About this role:
Wells Fargo Rail is seeking a Vice President of Engineering to lead a team of engineers which are responsible for the reliability and availability of a fleet of approximately 130,000 railcars.
In this role, you will:
- Lead, develop, mentor, and hire new talent for the Wells Fargo Rail Engineering team.
- Collaborate and work across the organization to provide technical guidance for the purpose of facilitating asset leases and provide a world class customer experience.
- Ensure regulatory compliance for all activities associated with fleet acquisitions, inspections, and maintenance.
- Participate in rail industry committees and trade organizations, as needed, to stay current with potential regulatory changes, technical advancements, and/or disruptive activities that could influence the Wells Fargo Rail fleet.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development.
- Establish performance standards, evaluate performance, train and mentor team
- Develop and assist in developing policies and procedures, training materials
- Make decisions and resolve issues regarding objectives and operations of the fleet assets in Rail Operations area to meet business objectives
- Interpret and develop policies and procedures for functions with low to moderate complexity within scope of responsibility
- Lead team to achieve objectives

- 4+ years of Rail Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 2+ years of leadership experience
- Experience with and broad knowledge of freight and tank car design and maintenance practices that are in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Deep knowledge of all applicable rail industry rules, polices, guidelines and regulations (AAR, FRA, AMPP, etc.)
- Engineering degree from an accredited institution.

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$122,200.00 - $217,200.00
