About this role:

The Consumer Technology Platform Management team, part of Wells Fargo Enterprise Information Technology, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Systems Operations Engineer to join our global technology team. You'll provide platform support for critical applications and infrastructure based on Windows/Linux/Azure technologies used throughout the Wells Fargo retail branch network. Additionally, you'll create/enhance observability/monitoring/alerting for key applications, execute change deployments, and lead/participate in key technology initiatives.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex, broad impact initiatives including provision of high level systems consultation for the technology teams
  • Work as key participant in large scale planning of computer systems and network infrastructure for Systems Operations functional area
  • Review and analyze complex technical challenges, as well as escalated support issues related to core business solutions that require in depth evaluation of multiple factors, such as alternatives, enhancements, periodic systems reviews, or improvements to existing systems
  • Make decisions on technical changes and enhancements
  • Consult with engineering team on change design requiring solid understanding of technical process controls or standards that influence and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with technical peers, colleagues, and mid to more experienced level managers to resolve systems support issues and achieve goals

  • Perform Incident Management for complex technology issues impacting production
  • Execute change management and implementation of changes to production
  • Execute on; and enhance our monitoring & observability strategy
  • Create/Implement automation solutions to reduce toil and risk of human error
  • Migration and support of Applications in the Azure public cloud
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of hands-on Windows Systems Engineering experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on Windows Server Production Support/Administration experience
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with one or more Application monitoring/observability tools such as AppDynamics, Splunk, Elastic, Prometheus, Grafana, or ThousandEyes.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with one or more scripting / automation tools such as Python, bash, PowerShell, Ansible
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with software deployment tools such as: uDeploy, Harness, Terraform
  • 2+ years of Cloud Technology Experience such as Microsoft Azure
Desired Qualifications:
  • Hands on experience with Linux/Unix (inc: Tomcat/Apache) support or systems administration
  • Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles
  • Microsoft Azure AZ900 Certified
  • Root cause analysis experience
  • Agile/Scrum/Jira/Kanban/ServiceNow/Confluence experience
  • Strong desire to learn new technologies
  • Experience resolving and working through escalated and complex issues
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a geographically dispersed organization
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
Job Expectations:

  • Hybrid role requiring in-office presence 3 days a week at approved location

$96,600.00 - $171,800.00
