About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Operational Risk Officer.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives and provide an aggregate view of portfolio risk for measuring and managing investment risk with broad impact.
  • Act as key participant in providing solutions to improve efficiency, profitability and to reduce expenses for risk management.
  • Consult and provide input into complex investment processes and governance, propose risk limits and remediation as needed.
  • Design, develop and test highly complex analytic models to help monitor and manage investment risk.
  • Consult and provide input into investment processes and governance and propose risk limits and remediation as needed.
  • Lead team to meet risk management deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of adherence, regulations, and policies for data integrity.
  • Collaborate and consult with lines of business, Independent Risk Management, and companywide risk analysts in development of investment risk oversight initiatives and strategies.
  • Provide work direction to other team and help them in the execution.
  • The Lead Operational Risk Officer will support the administration and execution of FIRO's Risk Program. The individual will be responsible for supporting FIRO's risk assessment process and working with various lines of business to develop transparent and supportable oversight processes.

  • Support on-going analytic efforts related to using data to proactively monitor fiduciary and investment risk.
  • Establish and manage processes and controls to ensure effective and efficient market monitoring.
  • Collaborate with other FIRO team members to implement solutions including automation and development of Tableau/Power Bi dashboards for investment risk analysis purposes.
  • Execute ad-hoc analysis based on prevailing market events in support of FIRO's Investment Risk Oversight team.
  • Work as a mentor for other team members and help them in understanding and executing complex assignments.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders and technology team and lead the development and UAT validation of FIRO database and platforms.
  • Develop Xceptor workflow automation capability in the team and lead the developments related to workflow/process automation.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Operational Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Desired Qualifications
  • 5+ years of strong SQL experience with excellent understanding of database management system.
  • 5+ years of experience in data visualization and reporting using Tableau / Power Bi
  • Handson experience in the performance tuning of SQL queries and tableau reports.
  • Good understanding of process automation/ improvement.
  • Overall 4+ years of financial services industry experience preferably in risk management
  • A master's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, or computer science
  • Strong experience in understanding and writing SQL queries and database management.
  • Good understanding of advanced Microsoft office skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge and understanding of brokerage or asset management.
  • Understanding of financial market instruments including fixed income and derivatives.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
