About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Network Engineer...

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the review, resolution and implementation for the most complex technical issues and initiatives related to large scale network applications, data systems, voice and other technical products and services
  • Utilizing Ansible orchestration and Python scripting to simplify high volume and/or high-risk tasks for business partners
  • Knowledge and experience working with JSON
  • Knowledge and experience working with RESTful API
  • Evaluate or review queries to extract data, create standard procedures, or perform limited programming to fine tune systems supported
  • Identify emerging/new products to support new line of business request (requiring new features) or to fill gaps with current deployed network technologies.
  • Research and document industry best practices
  • Document evaluation criteria
  • Develop and participate in Proof of concepts (POC) at vendor sites for new products and services.
  • Validates / proves out and refines high level architectural designs developed by Innovations or Architecture teams
  • Develop and maintain user case / testing requirements for Functional and Integration testing at WF lab in support of new products and services. Ensures new product / solution is supported end to end.
  • Develop scripts and templates for new services (outputs to Network Engineering)
  • Defines design elements, Statement of work to engage the LAB to establish new development environments for Solutions to be developed. (Provide Bill of materials hardware/software)
  • Communicate completed development steps and action items.
  • Consults with technical groups, users and/or vendors to identify and influence functional specifications and business/technical requirements.
  • Proposes and creates conceptual network design/hardware reconfiguration and implementation methods.
  • Design work is creative, unique, sophisticated and complex.
  • Provides updates to the service catalog and releases certified new equipment for procurement to network engineers to order
  • Partner with other critical support teams (Security and Network Architecture to insure network alignment with overall strategic direction for Wells Fargo Data Centers
  • Ability to translate complex technical needs into straightforward requests for information and collaboration, working with a wide range of people

  • 5+ years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of network automation development using languages like Ansible or Python.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Strong Network Design Skills
  • 5 + years of technical design experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of network architecture and standards development
  • Ability to research, design, implement, and test industry best practices
  • Knowledge and understanding of requirements development and testing for software products
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology deployment: solutions and features
  • Knowledge and understanding of network device security, and hardening best practices
  • Ability to train and lead others
  • Ability to present technical concepts to senior leaders
  • Ability to facilitate or host complex design discussions and drive results
  • Experienced with modern Data Center networking constructs. Ex: leaf-spine networks, BGP, VLANs, VXLAN, BGP EVPN etc.
