About this role:
The Model Risk Management (MRM) Governance team at Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Enterprise Risk Officer to play a critical role leading a cross functional front-line engagement relationship across three different programs owned by enterprise Model Risk Management (MRM): Model Risk, EUCT Risk, and AI Risk. The Lead Enterprise Risk Officer should demonstrate a seasoned understanding of the requirements established in the three policies (Model Risk Policy, EUCT Risk Policy, and AI Risk Policy), exercises independent judgement pertaining to implementation of these policies with the front-line stakeholders and connects the dots both within and across the three programs. The individual should focus on attention to details and produce high quality deliverables requiring minimal management reviews and supervision.

In this role, you will:
Policy and Program Governance:
- Exercise independent judgement pertaining to implementation of enterprise model risk, EUCT risk, and AI risk management policy and procedures across business groups and independent risk management
- Collaborate and consult with peers to translate requirements into corporate procedures, training, guidance documentation, and job-aids to enable a practical application of the three policies and bring in synergies across the three programs.
- Translate highly complex business and technical needs into objectives, plans, specifications, resources, and long-term goals by being a policy subject matter expert and educate partners on requirements and implement effective monitoring routines
- Provide oversight and credible challenge related to the processes the business groups have in place to execute against requirements established in the policies.
- Advise front line business on formal issues and corrective actions related to model risk, EUCT risk, and AI Risk
- Identify, monitor, report, and escalate policy violations and exceptions
- Execute model risk, EUCT risk , and AI risk governance controls
- Analyze data to identify trends and root causes to assess risks
- Ensure artifact level data integrity and identification/remediation of defects in the SOR
- Provide coordination and support between Model Risk Officers/Group Model Risk Officers and front-line model development/owner/governance teams
- Lead implementation of strategies to integrate and align with other enterprise programs and risk teams to ensure model risk, EUCT risk, and AI risk is being considered and overseen across the firm
- Develop and maintain partnerships with all front-line model risk, EUCT risk, and AI risk governance teams
- Develop and deliver presentations and key communications to model risk executives, leaders, and stakeholders
- Interpret and consolidate information into leadership reporting that is digestible and clearly communicates the risk of non-compliance with policy and model risk
- 5+ years of Risk Management experience (Compliance, Financial Crimes, Operational Risk, Audit, Legal, Credit Risk, Market Risk, IT Systems Security, Business Process Management) or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Financial Services experience including direct experience in Model Risk Governance (first line and/or second line) experience with a solid understanding of model risk management.
- Practical experience supporting all front-line Model Risk, EUCT risk, and AI risk governance and MRO cohorts
- Experience with model performance oversight, which involves monitoring, identifying and communicating issues and risk as well as offering potential solutions tailored to different levels of personnel
- Advanced Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, LiveMeeting and SharePoint) skills
- Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment
- Ability to present to multiple level of decision makers in a professional and confident manner
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
- Strong collaboration and partnering skills
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
- This position offers a hybrid work schedule.

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$111,100.00 - $197,500.00
