About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Corporate Insurance Director. This role will lead the Risk Financing and Management Liability Claims functions within Risk & Insurance Management (RIM). RIM is responsible for management of Wells Fargo's insurable risks around the world. Responsibilities of the role include designing and purchasing all corporate insurance and reinsurance coverages (D&O, Property, Cyber, Workers' Comp, Professional Liability, etc.), and managing large, complex management liability claims in response to litigation.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, manage, and develop the strategic plan and deliverables for functions within responsibility
  • Serve as authority for executive management on corporate insurance
  • Identify opportunities and strategies for optimizing insurance coverage and overall insurance expense
  • Lead experienced team by making strategic decisions to meet management priorities
  • Interpret and develop range of strategy, direction, and controls to manage operational risk
  • Drive a strong risk-based control structure in compliance with laws and regulations, internal requirements, and the Company's commitment to a strong risk management culture
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for functions within responsibility
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy

  • 8+ years of Corporate Insurable Risk Management, Risk Management Consulting, Property or Casualty Insurance, or Insurance Brokerage experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of Management experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics
  • J.D. or experience in legal practice
  • 6+yrs experience in Corporate Insurable Risk Management, Risk Management Consulting, Property or Casualty Insurance, or Insurance Brokerage.
  • Extensive knowledge of insurable risk management, including experience in financial institution exposures, risk financing, captive utilization, insurance/reinsurance, complex management liability claims, insurance broker engagement and insurance carrier relationship management
  • People management experience
  • Adaptability, agility, change management leadership with strong focus on utilization of technology to enhance efficiency in execution
  • Other certifications applicable to areas of responsibility such as Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU)
  • Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule
