About the Role
Wells Fargo is seeking a Business Execution Executive Director to join the Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) Data management organization, a part of the CIB Chief Operating Office. The CIB Data Management organization provides thought leadership into line of business data strategy, supports the development of a simplified data environments to support line of business needs and serves our internal business customers through data advisory and data management support services. The incumbent will directly manage a team of resources aligned to globally support key CIB data applications or product environments including the CIB Platforms, Data Governance including documentation of lineage, dictionaries, and controls. The ideal candidate will be expected to partner or consult with resources across the line of business, technology, control, and various enterprise risk functions. Candidates will collaborate closely with peers and senior leadership to optimize the current operating and business engagement model for this team. Candidates for this role will have a demonstrated strong dynamic management and leadership experience, preferably in a matrixed environment, and will be expected to develop a diverse team of data management and business execution focused individuals.

In this role, you will:
- The role will require direct engagement with senior leaders across CIB and partnership with them to drive diverse, challenging, and strategic initiatives designed to support the Data Strategy.
- The incumbent will be instrumental in developing people, with coaching, mentorship and building a unifying vision across the organization.
- As needed, utilize support tools and processes used to maintain companywide data quality, control standards and data sourcing. Provide input into target state enterprise data management solutions or workflow applications.
- Manage the operational execution of activities related to CIB product management.
- Contribute and implement innovative solutions or improvements to current operational processes and procedures. Must have a growth mindset and be solution and efficiency oriented.
- Engage control, business and operational risk partners when needed to ensure appropriate subject matter knowledge is represented. Develop a wide network of business partners.
- Serve as single point of contact and subject matter expert for escalations on issues of varying complexity.
- Superior analytical and critical thinking skills.
- 8+ years of Data Management, implementation, strategic planning, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
- 4+ years of management experience
- Overall experience of 18 plus years with experience in Data Management, implementation, strategic planning, or similar roles in the financial services industry, preferably CIB.
- CIB domain & product knowledge - Banking and/or Markets - Product knowledge of one or more CIB products and asset classes.
- MBA/CA/CFA/Engineering equivalent advanced degree, or equivalent experience
- Ability to provide thought leadership, business knowledge and cross-functional expertise, with an innovative perspective on challenges and opportunity areas.
- CIB domain & product knowledge - Banking and/or Markets - Product knowledge of one or more CIB products and asset classes.
- Appreciation of data domains, taxonomy, business, and technical meta-data.
- Deep understanding and experience with agile framework, ability to drive teams work in a fast-paced environment and time sensitive deadlines.
- Ability to lead multiple high risk / impact global CIB projects seamlessly, i.e., able to navigate critical challenges, maximize capacity, and provide oversight and guidance on complex initiatives.
- Convert business problem statements into cost effective, scalable, reliable & user-friendly solutions.
- Setting up processes, procedures and controls for teams and projects.
- Maintain good understanding of external trends impacting the function, guides others to consider implications and adapt.
- Ability to compile and analyze large data sets and present in effective manner.
- Historical consultative and leadership skills and ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment.
- History of building effective business partnerships with all levels of the organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to simplify and present complex topics for easier understanding.

- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate with senior leaders across LOBs globally.
- Ability to deliver strategically important information to a range of audiences leveraging multiple communication methods, tools, and channels to effectively position business messages and strategic programs.
- Ability to manage complex issues and deliverables into effective outcome-oriented conversations.
- Closely lead and manage teams and provide leadership.
- Develop and maintain productivity of the team - ensure strong focus on short- and long-term objectives, training, succession planning, career development, attrition management and managing career opportunities.
- Performance management - conduct appraisals, complete action plans for people development, career development (mentoring, coaching, providing stretch assignments) and measuring their outcomes.
- Ability to mentor talent for the future, including successors; able to hold others accountable for the career advancement of future leaders.
- Manage training needs of the team along with ensuring completion of the mandatory targets.
- Ensure Learning Initiatives, Adherence to discipline, punctuality, and compliance by the team.
- Ability to develop and lead long-term, future-focused strategic plans to drive engagement and enhance the value of the relationship to all parties.
- Foster inclusive environments across teams and functions.
