About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Capital Markets' Vice President to support coverage groups and specialty groups within Public Finance Investment Banking, with a focus on complex transactions that fall outside of the typical purview of basic new money and refunding analyses. The selected candidate will help oversee and execute quantitative analyses, develop business opportunities, identify innovative strategies, and execute transactions for a wide range of public finance issuers. Developing detailed understandings of regulatory requirements, capital usage, and internal policies is an important aspect of this role. The Vice President will work with deal teams that include senior and junior team members and will build a network of influence among municipal market professionals including, among others, bond lawyers, credit providers, financial advisors, rating agencies, and key industry vendors (e.g. public accounting firms).

In this role, you will:
  • Review and analyze, basic business, operational or technical assignments or challenges that require research, evaluation and selection of alternatives and exercise independent judgment to guide medium risk deliverables
  • Analyze portfolio, cash position and market conditions
  • Review security trading and documentation for regulatory compliance

  • Present recommendations for resolving more complex situations and exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in policies, procedures and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with functional colleagues, internal partners and stakeholders, including internal and external customers
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Securities Strategies experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Advanced Excel modeling, Linear Optimization Programming, Visual Basic, and Database Management
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • An energetic self-starter who is detail-oriented with strong quantitative skills and enjoys working in a team environment; ability to work with little direct supervision and thrive in a high energy environment.
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets, and an understanding of the municipal bond market and relevant tax laws.
  • Very comfortable and efficient in Excel. Experience writing formulas; organizing, analyzing, and formatting data; and recognizing and auditing errors.
  • Able to review and interpret financial statements.
  • Analytical thinker. Able to make decisions and recommendations that are well reasoned.
  • High level of personal motivation. Does more than what is asked for and anticipates questions/issues.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume workload while maintaining excellence and consistency of work. Ability to quickly change focus and stay organized is a must.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mathematics, Computer Science OR 3+ years direct public finance work experience.
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Registration for FINRA SIE, Series 52 Top-Off and 63 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 79 encouraged
Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$144,400.00 - $300,000.00
