About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Head of Shared Services Capital Markets Middle Office Director who will provide leadership, decision making, and strategic direction for the Shared Services Team within the CIB (Corporate & Investment Banking) Operations organization for Wells Fargo Securities (WFS) Operations.
In this role, you will build and maintain a shared utility, but independent controls for:
- Tax Operations
- Product and Reference Data Completeness and Integrity
- Client and Platform Enablement
- Client service and output management
- System configuration; Independent Process Review and Testing, Record Process Workflows highlighting weaknesses and gaps while recommending enhancements
- Leadership and development of a global team of 200+ employees; related projects and remediation work in Shared Services.
- Operational relationship management with strategic partners/vendors
- Assist WFS Operations in creating a culture of timely and transparent escalation and communication
- Assist in design and implement operating model changes, and be responsible for a robust control environment: examples could be results of RCSA output, OREs (Operational Risk Events) and Near Miss outputs
- Provide internal counsel to ensure sound processes and controls while offering commercial solutions to the Operations Teams as a whole
- Influence strategic process, individuals and platform decisions ensuring a reduction to risk while creating efficiency
- Metrics (KRI's) reporting for management - manage the KRI platform and ensure KRI's are matured and amended as the environment changes
- Coordinate with Compliance, Control, Legal, Tax, Technology the Business and other support partners as needed to make needed change

The leader will represent WFS Operations and meet with regulators and auditors (internal and external), developing working relationships with both teams. Additionally, the manager will be accountable for leading and managing human capital. This incorporates performance management and evaluation, human capital development and retention and promotion; responsible for administrating a department budget.
Finally, the individual will need to consistently demonstrate the Wells Fargo core values and ensure that they are reinforced throughout the team and overall organization.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of Capital Markets industry experience, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience,
- 4+ years of management experience
- Successfully completed FINRA Series 99 exam to qualify for immediate registration (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
- Proven Capital Markets experience in an Operations, Compliance or Risk Control Organization
- Management experience within a Capital Markets Division building out and developing an organization, staffing decisions, system choices, system implementation
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory reporting needs and Dodd-Frank, and ability to create efficient and effective processes and controls with a goal to minimize systemic and systematic risks
- Strong knowledge of building KRI's, BSA's and understanding of risks and controls specific to a capital markets operations organization
- Familiarity with the current regulatory environment and with any pending or proposed changes (Dodd-Frank, Volker, EMIR, BREXIT, QFC, Books and Records, RRP, etc.)
- Comprehensive financial products and controls knowledge preferred (Broker Dealer and Bank activity)
- Industry relationships (e.g. broker/dealer community, CCP's/DCO's, and asset class specific boards and working groups)
- Confidence to deal with both external and internal clients, regulators and vendors
- MBA or CFA preferred
- Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position
- Currently holds FINRA 99 and either the Series 24 or 27 license (or will successfully pass these within 12 months of start date)
- FINRA Series 24 or 27 (additional licenses outside of those listed in the Required Qualifications) examinations or equivalent must be completed within 12 months following commencement of employment, depending upon the number of license(s) needed if not immediately available to transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted. This will be communicated at time of offer acceptance
- Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities or personal investing; affected employees will be expected to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and abide by applicable policy requirements if hired. Information will be shared about expectations during the recruitment process.

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$207,900.00 - $431,900.00
