Overview

Waters, the world's leading specialty measurement company that cares about inclusion and diversity is seeking for an Financial Accountant, who will be part of the Eastern Europe Accounting team .You will work closely with the Accounting Manager with country-level and regional responsibilities, and participate in various projects to drive efficiency and accounting harmonization across EMEA.

This position will follow a hybrid model work approach(2-3 days working from wilmslow, UK office) and rest days working from home.

Responsibilities

  • US GAAP & STAT responsibility for 1-2 Entities within the region:
    • accrual
    • local taxes
    • prepaids
    • trial balance review and taking necessary action (clearings, re-classes, etc)
    • any other requests related to the Entities
  • Main contact for internal and external Audit process for the same Entities
  • Daily/monthly tasks for the whole Eastern region:

  • Inventory in transit
  • Deferred revenue

  • control specific P&L accounts
  • Preparation of Blackline reconciliations and tasks for 1-2 Entities in the Eastern region.
  • Collaboration with external Partners:E&Y, PWC
  • Collaboration with internal Partners:AP, Finance Business Partner Eastern Europe, Country Managers Eastern Europe, Corporate Tax Team, Order Processing Manager Eastern Europe
  • Ad Hoc tasks & Project Support and lead for current/new projects on local/European and global level

  • Qualifications

    Education:

    • University degree in Accounting or Business Studies or equivalent; additional Accounting or Tax qualification would be advantageous

    Experience:

    • 2-5 years' experience in an accounting position

    Competencies:

    • Knowledge of US GAAP and international accounting rules demonstrated both in theory and practice.
    • International and diverse environment experience
    • Work experience in matrix organization with internal controls
    • SAP & Blackline experience would be advantageous
    • MS Office Package, excellent Excel skills

    You are:

    • self-motivated and able to use own initiative to improve existing processes
    • strong team player with good communication skills to develop positive relationships (internal and external)
    • flexible
    • willing to develop in a Global Organization
    • fluent in English (written and spoken)

    Travel:

    • A valid passport will be required
    • This position requires occasional travel abroad for activities such as meetings and training
