Overview

Waters has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Intelligence Leader. As a key member of the Revenue Operations team, the Business Intelligence Leader will be responsible for driving insights that help stakeholders better understand business trends. Your team leverages reporting tools and ad hoc analysis to pull out relevant data, provide trend reporting, develops KPI frameworks to better understand holistic performance, and performs deep ad hoc analysis and "what if" scenario building to better inform decisions. The role requires in-depth experience with a variety of measurement and research methods, forecasting techniques, reporting and analytic platforms, strategic planning, project management, data sourcing and evaluation, financial analysis, and includes management responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the business questions and cadence commercial analytics should support, and how analytics can support decision making within the cadence
  • Develop a commercial analytics platform that will deliver the right insights to the right people in the way that works best for them.
  • Partner with Sales, Regional Comm Ops, Sales Operations and Finance leadership to design global dashboards to monitor and measure the business, empowering proactive actions to instill confidence to achieve objectives
  • Support a governance process for the intake of requests and prioritization based on business impact and feasibility, the ability to assess and communicate the impact of the analytics efforts and, finally, the ability to industrialize and standardize repeated questions to create scale and reduce inefficiencies.
  • Partner with IT to develop a clear data strategy on how to procure the right kind of data, how to integrate the data with integrity and quality, and how to manage the data on an ongoing basis in a way that the value of the data is maximized.
  • Work closely with management to inspect sales process quality and prioritize opportunities for improvement to understand data process bottlenecks and inconsistencies. Facilitate a mindset of continuous process improvement.

Qualifications

  • Required:

    • Bachelor's degree required; MA/MS/MBA or other advanced degree preferred
    • 10+ years in business intelligence, data analytics, sales operations, or reporting roles, with management experience
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills with expertise in the tools of secondary data analysis and forecasting
    • Excellent communication, consulting and influencing skills
    • Ability to build relationships at all levels within the organization
    • Ability to manage multiple non-connected projects and prioritize time/activities
    • Knowledge of various sales strategies, as well as broad base business acumen
    • Ability to build business cases, gain support, and drive implementation
    • Significant track record of successfully leading and coaching a team
    • Proficient in SQL, Power BI, Azure, Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint

    Desirable:

    • Experience of Salesforce & Salesforce Reporting
    • Experience with hands-on statistical modeling (such as regression modeling, a/b testing, significance testing etc.), knowledge about machine learning (such as predictive modeling, decision trees, classification models, clustering techniques).
    • Experience working in a matrixed environment building successful stakeholder partnerships.
