Job Overview
As the Senior Executive of Merchandising, you will support the manager in the day-to-day curation and editorial support of the key areas you are taking charge of. Your creativity, analytical skills, and passion for content will provide valuable insights and analysis to optimize the merchandising strategies and inventory management. You will also work closely with cross functional teams to make informed decisions that drives subscriber growth, engagement and enhance customer viewing experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Power user of Content Management System (CMS) who owns day-to-day curation, execution of rails and contributes to campaign planning.
- Updates content calendar with priority premieres, changes in rollouts schedules and relevant cultural events/anniversaries in each market.
- Assigns and reviews the genre/brand/editorial tags and availability messaging for all content within their areas of focus on a weekly basis.
- Collaborate regularly with internal stakeholders to review upcoming priority initiatives and the results of past initiatives.
- Manages rails, based on the analytics, priority content calendar, feedback from cross functional teams, and acute awareness of cultural moments in the market.
- Uses data from the Merchandising Analysis & Insights team to inform merchandising decisions day to day and implements the testing and rollout of feature / capabilities updates.
- Supports Merchandising Lead and Page Leads on ad hoc initiatives.
- Leverages merchandising strategies to improve content discoverability, minutes/impression, impression efficiency, content diversity, and other relevant KPIs that improve the engagement/retention of subscribers and the performance of content on Max.
- Keeps informed and is aware of latest developments in the industry / culture which we can leverage for our merchandising strategies, providing insights to Merchandising Lead and Page Leads.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: At least Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Media or a related field
- Prior Experience / Industry: At least 2 years of experience in merchandising or media industry particularly in the streaming space.
- Has experience analysing data and using it to optimize the right time and right place to present the right content to our subscribers. Working knowledge of evolving performance metrics and implementation into strategy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Be consumer-obsessed and understands the viewers' connections with their favourite content.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Expert knowledge on respective areas of content, deep familiarity with WBD's catalogue, strong familiarity with competitor's content and curious of trends in the media business overall.
