The Senior Director of Social Media for the Streaming Platform in Latin America will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive social media strategies to enhance brand awareness, audience engagement, and subscription growth. This role will oversee the social media operations across multiple countries in the Latin American region, ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives of WBD.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a strategic social media plan tailored to the Latin American market, focusing on brand positioning, audience growth, and engagemen for both streaming and PayTV brands.


  • Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams (marketing, content, PR, CX) to align social media strategies with overall business goals.


  • Lead regional and local social media strategies, plans, and goals, setting guidelines for DTC (Direct-to-Consumer) and linear social media verticals to increase engagement and fan base growth.

Content Strategy and Management:

  • Lead the creation, curation, and management of high-quality, engaging content across various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube, Spotify, Snap).


  • Oversee the development of localized content that resonates with diverse audiences in different countries within Latin America.


  • Develop strategies to leverage local social insights, analytics, and trends to drive and support subscriber acquisition and retention efforts.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing social media team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment, embracing the WBD culture and guiding principles.


  • Provide guidance and professional development opportunities for team members.

Analytics and Reporting:

  • Utilize social media analytics tools to track performance metrics, analyze trends, and generate insights to inform strategic decisions.


  • Regularly report on social media performance, campaign effectiveness, and ROI to senior management.

Community Engagement:

  • Develop and implement community management strategies to foster positive relationships with followers and work along with customer experience for any inquiries and feedback.


  • Ensure timely and effective communication with audiences, maintaining a strong brand presence and reputation.

Partnerships and Collaborations:

  • Identify and establish strategic partnerships with influencers, brands, and content creators to amplify reach and engagement.


  • Collaborate with regional partners to drive joint social media initiatives and campaigns and increase our brand footprint and marketing power.

Innovation and Trends:

  • Stay abreast of social media trends, emerging platforms, and industry best practices to ensure the platform remains competitive and innovative.


  • Experiment with new formats, technologies, and creative approaches to drive engagement and growth.

Management of Third-Party Agencies:

  • Oversee and manage relationships with third-party social media agencies across all markets, ensuring they adhere to brand guidelines and deliver on agreed KPIs.


  • Coordinate with agency to implement campaigns, monitor performance, and optimize strategies for maximum impact.

Media Boosting for Engagement and Growth:

  • Develop and execute paid social media strategies to boost content, increase engagement, and drive audience growth, working aligned with the Media team.


  • Allocate and manage budget for paid media campaigns, ensuring effective use of resources to achieve desired outcomes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work strategically and collaboratively with global and regional leaders and multiple stakeholders across the organization to identify growth opportunities and measure success.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.


  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in social media management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably within the media and entertainment sectors.


  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful social media strategies in the Latin American market.


  • Strong understanding of the social media landscape, cultural nuances, and audience behaviors in Latin America.


  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.


  • Experience managing third-party agencies and ensuring their performance aligns with brand objectives.


  • Expertise in developing and managing paid social media campaigns to drive engagement and growth.


  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English; Portuguese is a plus.


  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Work Environment: This role may require travel within the Latin American region to oversee operations, attend events, and collaborate with regional teams. Flexible working hours may be necessary to accommodate different time zones and the dynamic nature of social media management.
