Warner Bros. International Television Production Italia (WBITVP Italia) is the Italian production company of the London-headquartered international television division of Warner Bros. Discovery Inc.
WBITVP Italy is a new endeavour by the ITVP group to develop, produce and distributes local language content for public and commercial, VOD & SVOD channels in all major genres: Scripted TV & Film, Studio Entertainment and Docureality. The ITVP group's high profile franchises include the entertainment shows The Bachelor, Cash for Trash, First Dates, CQC, The Repair Shop, F-boy Island and recent scripted successes include The Twelve, Love Me, ThuisHuis and Waterloo Road.
About the Role:
Reporting to the MD, the Head of Entertainment for WBITVP Italy will provide creative and innovative direction to support the production of non-scripted television programming for the Italian market. They will also pursue the acquisition of third-party formats and creative partnerships with independent producers and broadcasters in the region with the aim of delivering new formats for the group.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for identifying new projects and deciding which final TV formats are presented to clients
- Responsible for the business side of production, ensuring the goals are achieved
- In charge of hiring, managing, and organizing the productions, securing funding, maintaining a schedule and managing cast and crew
- Acting as a company representative together with the MD with external clients and participating in international internal events
- Identify new opportunities (internal / third party) for WBITVP that might travel from Italy to other territories
- Share information and present recent and new commissions; key developments to creatives from each production company within WBITVP; attend periodic meetings
- Providing business updates and periodic reports to the group
- Plays a crucial and creative role ensuring that the project goes into production - supervising the production at all levels - (production, artistic, technical or editorial areas)
- As Executive Producer, supervises, in some aspects of scripting, casting, and crewing (strong knowledge of key employees in the market help to ensure the best expertise for each project), working often on a number of projects simultaneously
About You:
- In-depth knowledge of the market
- Extensive understanding of TV program mechanisms, and intimate knowledge of all aspects of film production including financing, marketing, and distribution
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to identify commercial, marketable projects
- Fast paced and able to work to tight deadlines and adapt to breaking news
- Availability to travel on site to productions
- Journalism, media communications degree or master degree in TV production
- Fluency in English and Italian
