The Studio is home to one of the most successful collections of brands in the world and stands at the forefront of every aspect of the entertainment industry, from feature film, television and home entertainment production and worldwide distribution to DVD and Blu-ray, digital distribution, animation, comic books, video games, product and brand licensing, and broadcasting. The TV Licensing business manages the distribution and licensing of television content across SVOD.

WBD ANZ operates a portfolio of premium brands across pay-TV, free-to-air and theatrical platforms. We are a leading entertainment brand on Foxtel and Sky, and the largest free-to-air commercial broadcaster in New Zealand.

The Role

The Commercial Analyst will focus on supporting growth and sustenance of the ANZ Networks business through financial modelling, market analysis, and performance evaluation.

The role involves working closely with the Director of Commercial and Business Growth to identify opportunities for business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Analysis and Modelling

  • Develop and maintain commercial models to forecast revenue, costs, and profitability across various projects and initiatives e.g. Content Investment


  • Conduct scenario analysis to evaluate the financial impact of strategic decisions and investment opportunities.

Strategic Projects

  • Collaborate on growth-focused projects such as new channel launches, regional market expansions, and optimization of existing network operations.


  • Provide financial analysis for new deals, investment opportunities, joint ventures, and partnership agreements.

Market Research

  • Conduct competitive analysis and market trend research to identify risks and opportunities for the Networks business.


  • Be aware of emerging consumer and technology trends that could impact the ANZ media landscape.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with content and marketing teams to assess commercial viability and success metrics for new initiatives.


  • Manage the Content Investment process e.g. work with the Content team to report on monthly content spend, amort, and forecasts.


  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets for the Networks business, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities

Performance Insights

  • Analyse network performance data, including ratings, ad sales, and affiliate revenue, to identify trends and recommend actionable insights for the team.


  • Support monthly and quarterly reporting, highlighting key drivers of business performance.

Experience Required:

  • Experience in similar roles within the media or adjacent industries


  • Proven success in building commercial models in response to strategic opportunities for business growth
