Position Summary...

What you'll do...

As a Safety Subject Matter Expert, your primary role will be to design, implement, and monitor standards and programs to mitigate safety risks within our End to End operation. Your strategic expertise will be pivotal in supporting the safety and protection of Walmart associates and customers across all our business. You will proactively work with multiple team leaders from all areas across the enterprise to constantly transform and improve our processes to enable the business and make it safer. This role demands strong leadership and communication skills, and extensive knowledge in workplace safety, particularly focused in retail and warehousing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing and implementing effective workplace safety programs within large organizations, and a good understanding of OSHA compliance requirements. We are seeking a candidate who possesses excellent leadership, strategic, communication and problem-solving skills, and that can proactively drive safety initiatives across different groups within the Company. This is a pivotal role within our organization, and we are looking for someone who can strategically drive our goal to improve people's lives through our safety programs.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of safety programs across all Walmart operations related to walking and working surfaces, fall protection, merchandise and equipment storage, remove from use and lock-out Tag-out, racking and stacking, confined spaces, use of powered lifting equipment, docking and unloading, extreme weather conditions, emergency response, machine guarding, protection against infectious disease, electrical safety, personal protection equipment, cuts and lacerations, to name a few.
  • Develop processes to implement innovative solutions to reduce the risk of accidents for associates and customers.
  • Develop and revise safety training materials for all associate in operations.
  • Collaborate with multiple other areas to develop and implement innovative solutions to mitigate residual safety risks.
  • Develop and scrutinize safety Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive actionable steps towards achieving the company's safety objectives.
  • Work in an intense and dynamic team passionate about serving our customers and associates.

What you'll bring:

  • You're a subject matter expert in industrial health and safety, including OSHA compliance.
  • Leadership and cross functional abilities to proactively connect with other areas to develop and implement safety programs.
  • A risk management mindset that balances business needs, urgency, and safety priorities.
  • Experience in Warehousing and Retail
  • Strong leadership and communication skills and a track record of resolving complex problems at a corporate level.
  • Experience and willingness for working in cross-functional teams.
  • The ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and propose effective solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills and effective time management practices that enable you to work and lead multiple projects simultaneously.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor's degree in business administration, occupational health and safety, industrial engineering, or related area and 7 years' experience in safety management, design and/or safety assurance, with at least 3 years' experience in a leadership or managerial role.
