What you'll do:

As a Staff, System and Infrastructure Engineer for VDI, you will play a senior role in designing, implementing, and enhancing our on-premise and Cloud based virtual desktop solutions. This position partners closely with global tech teams to ensure stability, security, performance, and productivity for our virtual Windows endpoints. The Windows Engineering VDI team is responsible for providing on-prem and cloud hosted virtual PCs for +30k associates and vendors. Our team is growing as demand increases for cloud-based solutions and services. The successful candidate will use their knowledge of server, workstation, and software architecture, as well as networking and security, to develop and automate solutions for virtual endpoint computing. We are looking for talented candidates with expert level knowledge in on-prem infrastructure management, Horizon (HCS)v2, Azure Cloud IaaS management, application virtualization, and multiple environment hypervisor administration.

The ideal candidate will have domain level expertise in:

  • VMware (Omnissa) Horizon & Horizon (HCS)
  • Microsoft AVD, HCI

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering roles, with a focus on configurating and administering large-scale virtual desktop and server technologies.
  • Extensive expertise in VMware and Azure technologies, including hands-on experience with deployment, configuration, and optimization of complex infrastructure solutions.
  • Design, implement, and maintain on-prem and cloud-based infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
  • Strong proficiency in DevOps practices, tools, and principles, with a demonstrated track record of implementing automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions
  • Experience administering and automating cloud infrastructure using Terraform and PowerShell.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production systems to identify and resolve issues.
  • Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Develop and implement security controls and processes to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Staying up to date with emerging trends and technologies in cloud computing and DevOps brings new ingenuity ways of working.
  • Leveraging tools & channels - Partner with vendors and internal team members to optimize usage of our management systems, existing technologies, and available training.
  • Building strategic relationships: Maximize relationships with global tech teams and our customers, ensuring the best possible user experience and establishing a relationship built on trust and transparency.
  • Operating with excellence - Set an example in managing to KPIs, delivering engineering excellence, presenting at all levels, and developing yourself and others.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications preferred.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
