About the Position…
Under our Strategic Initiatives team, the Senior Manager, Emissions Reduction Activation will work on executing Walmart’s Emissions Reduction Plan including Scope 3. The activator will work with internal and external stakeholders to update, refine, and execute on priority and hard to abate emissions in both our own operations and value chain. Additionally, the work includes refining, innovating, and planning our nature and water priorities and strategies as they impact emissions from a risk and opportunity perspective including:

• Building key abatement plans for Scope 3 as part of our emission reduction action plans
• Supporting integration of emissions strategies into our Gigaton platform tools (upstream) and customer energy solutions (downstream)
• Co-developing supplier measurement of Scope 3 KPIs with Sustainability Strategic Insights and Analytics team.
• Supporting activations on scope 1 and 2 emissions, especially in HVAC, refrigeration, transportation, and operations working with our Energy Transformation and Transportation teams
• Co-Developing new criteria in Nature / Place based initiatives to include emissions and water criteria in coordination with internal stakeholders
• Supporting innovation in emissions abatement pilots and analysis with from internal and external partners, including key NGO partners
• Integrating climate risk assessment into our emissions reduction plans
• Supporting policy and standards work for upcoming regulations and new protocols, including GHGP and California SB253
• Coordinating and running a community of practice on water activations and policy approaches, inclusive of international markets
What you'll do...
- Project manage and execute a hybrid model for integration of emissions data from suppliers into our footprint calculation tools in partnership with the data analytics and tech teams.
- Track and report on emissions performance on external reporting and internal targets, integrating into the business
- Contribute to enterprise risk assessments for emissions and water, including use of scenario tools
- Support calculation techniques (e.g. calculators), inclusive of future standards, for emissions and water metrics in nature-based initiatives.
- Support supplier survey development and execution as it relates to Scope 3 emissions and water measurement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate emissions-based considerations into business decisions and operations.
- Help understand future potential carbon taxes and border adjustments impacts.
- Update and refine glidepaths and business cases using emissions tools and integrate them into practice with our business acceleration teams
- Build action plan with key abatement drivers: Responsible for identifying key abatement drivers and integrating them into the action plan to achieve significant GHG emissions reductions.
- Identify key emissions risk / water stress models and tools, including surety of supply considerations, especially where they are emissions / emissions sensitivities.
What you’ll bring…
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (master's degree preferred)
- At least 5 years of experience in sustainability, climate change, or a related field
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful climate action plans and reducing GHG emissions
- Strong understanding of climate change mitigation strategies and emerging trends in sustainability
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders across the organization and industry
- Ability to travel as needed (up to 10% of the time)

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
