The Senior Data Analyst plays a crucial role in delivering modern, scaled, self-service solutions for data-driven decision-making by managing data sets throughout their lifecycle, from backlog prioritization to production deployment. As a subject matter expert in data availability and readiness, this role collaborates with Advanced Reporting developers and product managers to provide data according to product requirements while ensuring data quality thresholds are met, ultimately deriving value for customers from our BI and Data Analytics offerings.

What you'll do...
- Data Source Identification: Supporting the understanding of the priority order of requirements and service level agreements. Helping identify the most suitable source for data that is fit for purpose. Performing initial data quality checks on extracted data.
- Data Strategy: Understanding, articulating, and applying principles of the defined strategy to routine business problems that involve a single function.
- Understanding Business Context: Knowledge of industry and environmental factors, business vernacular, and practices across domains like product, finance, marketing, sales, technology, and human resources. Providing recommendations for complex business issues, developing ROI-driven business cases, and translating requirements into strategic projects. Acting as a liaison between business needs and solutions, identifying and recommending relevant insights to drive results.
- Tech. Problem Formulation: Knowledge of analytics techniques, business understanding, use cases, and requirements. Translating business problems into data-driven solutions, identifying appropriate tools, and demonstrating how these methods address the issue.
- Data Visualization: Creating suitable data visualizations and understanding customer needs for multiple data sets. Collaborating with UX/UI teams to build front-end applications and effectively presenting to various stakeholders. Customizing communication styles and mentoring junior associates on storytelling techniques based on context.
- Supporting Business Solutions Implementation: Building relationships with stakeholders, identifying needs, executing processes, monitoring results, capitalizing on improvement opportunities, and adapting to changing demands and responsibilities.
What you'll bring…
- You have experience in People Analytics and thrive on your products being used to improve overall employee/associate experience for extremely large populations.
- You have strong experience is SQL and ETL tools such as Dataiku or Tableau Prep.
- You have 3-4 years’ experience in data mining and data analysis.
- You have experience reviewing source systems for inaccuracies and develop and maintain protocols for handling, processing, and cleansing data.
- You are detail oriented with problem solving skills, looking beyond the surface of data issues to discover the root cause of a data discrepancy.
- Feel comfortable to partner closely with PowerBI developers and data engineers to ensure data structure requirements are met and support developing and maintaining data infrastructure.
- You have a good understanding of application access permissions, row level security (RLS), object level security (OLS).
- Possess strong documentation skills, documenting our data management processes to provide clear steps in performing the recurring data activities.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00-$155,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
