The Manager, Strategic Initiatives - Food is responsible for leading Measurement, Analytics, Synthesis, and Storytelling for critical initiatives contributing to the growth of the Food division within Walmart Marketplace. This role will partner closely with a range of internal stakeholders to analyze the business across multiple data sources, identify opportunities, create reports and dashboards, and communicate findings that will shape our overall category strategy. You will partner with Seller Planning to support budgeting and forecasting; you will work with strategy teams to diagnose the business and develop actionable insights; and you will support partner teams as they bring new capabilities and experiences to our customers and seller community. You’ll sweep us off our feet if:
- You have strong analytical skills and are able to find the signal in the noise to identify business problems and opportunities.

You’ll make an impact by:
- Reporting: Monitoring business KPIs and communicating category and seller performance drivers with scalable tools and systems
- Supporting category teams: Collecting data requirements; designing and developing queries; maintaining automated, user-friendly visualizations (reports, dashboards, etc.)
- Empowering cross-functional stakeholders and decision makers with timely and accurate marketplace data and insights
- Partnering with Seller Planning to analyze past performance, build category and seller budgets, and develop forecasts
- Providing deep-dive analysis for follow up questions from weekly and monthly business reviews
- Ensuring strong data governance, documentation, and communication of analyses and methodologies
- Developing business cases and strategies for new initiatives: digging into data and applying logic to understand adoption and growth trends.
- Drive Go-to-Market Approach for New Launches: Collaborate with seller marketing, communications, account managers, business development, and others to identify ways to make change ‘sticky’ and maximize the benefits of our new initiatives for marketplace sellers.
- Operating with Excellence: Set an example in managing to KPIs, developing high quality presentations, and developing yourself and others. Champion change and evolution, persuade through use of data and facts, demonstrate sufficient gravitas, and inspire and motivate others.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 years’ experience in data science, management consulting, finance, or similar data-driven field.
- Advanced user of Excel
- Experience creating dashboards using data visualization tools (Looker, ThoughtSpot, Tableau)
- Experience leveraging SQL to pull raw data when existing reporting is not sufficient
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to synthesize simple and impactful stories from complex analyses.
- E-Commerce and/or E-Commerce Marketplace experience strongly preferred.
- Category analysis or strategy experience strongly preferred (Food is a bonus but not required).
- Strong organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to pay attention to detail while handling multiple simultaneous projects
- Experience with project management and cross-functional stakeholder management
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a cross-functional team to drive business positive outcomes.
- Assertive, adaptable, and demonstrates initiative in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field (economics, statistics, mathematics, finance, etc.) OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration PLUS 3 years’ experience in data & analytics, management consulting, investment banking, or similar data-driven field
- Experience pulling and analyzing data using business intelligence tools (SQL, Looker, Tableau preferred)
- Experience developing analytical models using spreadsheet software, retrieving inputs from relevant sources (pivot tables, complex formulas, macros, etc.)
- Experience visualizing data and insights (dashboards; presentations; charts; data models)

Hoboken, New Jersey US-10279:The annual salary range for this position is $84,000.00-$156,000.00
San Bruno, California US-08848:The annual salary range for this position is $91,000.00-$169,000.00
Bentonville, Arkansas US-09401:The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00-$130,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
