Position Summary...

What you'll do...

  • Ensures compliance with corporate policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations in the area of transportation maintenance management; partnering with internal and external subject matter experts to guide the development and maintenance of regulatory compliance programs, operating procedures, and guidelines; communicating with regional teams to provide direction on compliant work environments; establishing training programs to ensure high risk areas are addressed in policies and procedures; updating Walmart maintenance operating procedures based on updates to equipment and changes in government regulations; and establishing relationships with members of the governing authorities to interpret requirements and ensuring they are understood, communicated, and implemented to support operations.
  • Oversees the execution and development of preventative fleet maintenance by designing policies, procedures, continuous improvement programs, and metrics; implementing advanced green technologies; directing facility and equipment preventative maintenance, operational safety, and equipment audits; and analyzing lifecycle maintenance costs to ensure proper warranties, reliability, and maintenance cost improvements.

Manages regional preventive maintenance and repair programs for fleet equipment by ensuring compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws, Department of Transportation, Environmental Protection Agency, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration programs; implementing and auditing procedures, facilities, equipment, and objectives to improve efficiency, green initiatives, and overall costs and compliance; creating and measuring operational metrics; providing guidance on correction of errors; and conducting follow-up with management to ensure compliance.
  • Directs the regional capital budget expenditures, operational budget, and warranty recovery to ensure the region is within budget plans by controlling expense budget expenditures and warranty reimbursements; overseeing the capital expenditure request process for the region; and reviewing monthly regional profit and loss statements and budget explanation and justifications from the field. Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.
  • Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent. Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy. Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; and supporting associate efforts in these areas.

  • This position will have 30%-50% travel and will include the following states: Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Our candidate will ideally live in one of these regions.

    The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

    Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
