What you'll do...

The Walmart Facility Services team is composed of over 5,000 associates and numerous contractors working to develop and execute a world-class, data-driven asset management strategy. Our mission is to optimize uptime and total cost of ownership for Walmart’s assets across 5,000+ stores, clubs, distribution centers, and fulfillment centers. Walmart’s Facility Services team is growing its responsibility and footprint to achieve its vision of becoming the world's most reliable and sustainable facility services platform — supporting our customers, members, associates, and communities in which we operate.

About the Role:

This role is responsible for the end-to-end strategic development of refrigeration and HVAC asset strategy. This includes, refrigeration and HVAC asset end of life strategy and preventative and reactive maintenance programs across Walmart’s entire fleet of facilities.   • Develop and refine HVAC and refrigeration equipment standards in collaboration with our Realty prototype and design teams.
  • Oversee procurement strategies for refrigeration and HVAC systems in partnership with Global Procurement.
  • Establish commissioning protocols to ensure optimized equipment performance from installation.
  • Define lifecycle management strategies for refrigeration and HVAC assets, including preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance approaches.
  • Develop training and best practices for field execution teams to ensure operational excellence.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for field teams supporting day-to-day maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Lead and execute large capital and operational expense projects for refrigeration and HVAC infrastructure upgrades.
  • Identify spare parts protocols alongside the Facility Services Parts team to improve repair efficiency.
  • Build and manage capital and OPEX plans to drive cost-effective refrigeration and HVAC operations.
  • Work cross-functionally with Realty, Construction, Sustainability, Energy, and Procurement teams to maximize uptime and total cost of ownership.

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for managing strategy of an annualized $2.3B OPEX and $2.5B capital plan, ensuring one of the world’s largest refrigeration and HVAC fleets operates reliably and sustainably.

You’ll Wow Us If You:

  • Have 10+ years of experience leading national multi-facility HVAC and refrigeration maintenance programs.
  • Have a proven track record of developing and scaling proactive maintenance strategies to improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Are well-versed in end-to-end asset lifecycle management for refrigeration and HVAC systems.
  • Have experience leading cross functional and managing vendor/contractor networks (4,000+).
  • Have deep knowledge of maintenance contract negotiation and supplier management within the HVAC and refrigeration space.
  • Are skilled in driving the transition from reactive maintenance to reliability-centered maintenance.
  • Are data-driven, detail-oriented, and adept at using analytics to inform asset investment decisions.
  • Excel at managing complex, multi-site projects with a focus on operational needs, prioritization, and execution.
  • Can lead cross-functional collaboration to align business goals and operational needs.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and are self-motivated to drive continuous improvement.

This is a key leadership role in Walmart’s Facility Services organization, directly shaping the future of refrigeration and HVAC asset management at one of the largest retailers in the world.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
