We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff SRE Engineer. Join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and scalability of our critical database infrastructure while leading a talented team to new heights!
What You Will Do
- SRE Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of Site Reliability and DevOps Engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Ensure Reliability: Drive the operation of scalable and highly available Data engineering platforms and pipelines
- Innovate with Automation: Spearhead the development of automation frameworks that reduce operational overhead, enabling zero-downtime deployments and efficient platform management such as databricks, RDS databases and other AWS services used by Data Engineering team.
- Strategic Oversight: Guide the evolution of our computing infrastructure, including the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, secure access mechanisms, and cutting-edge cloud technologies.
- Problem Solving: Serve as a trusted resource across the organization for complex challenges, providing expertise and leadership in crisis situations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with vizio devops and Infra teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of resources, while also managing cloud spend and resource optimization.
- Documentation: Ensure thorough documentation of all architectures, processes, and policies to facilitate knowledge sharing and operational efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to continually improve our database reliability strategies.

About You
- Experienced Leader: You have 8 year of experience working as Devops and/or SRE Engineer. Have experience in mentoring technical teams, with the ability to inspire and develop talent.
- Technical Expertise: You possess deep knowledge of AWS and its core technologies, Distributed computing platforms such as Databricks, Hadoop, EMR with hands-on experience in deployment automation, cloud infrastructure management, access management and administration of big data platforms.
- Communicative: Your excellent verbal and written communication skills enable you to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solver: You are the person people turn to when they need help because they know you genuinely care and have the skills to assist effectively.
- Innovative: You are passionate about leveraging modern tools and practices, such as Infrastructure as Code and automation, to drive efficiency and reliability in database operations.
- Collaborative: You thrive in cross-functional environments, working closely with engineering, development, and operations teams to achieve shared goals.
- Lifelong Learner: You are committed to continuous learning and staying current with industry advancements to keep your skills sharp and relevant.
- The ideal candidate will be highly experienced in the realm of the engineering and operation of database infrastructure in a cloud environment, with particular focus on maintaining continuous availability while running at a very large scale.
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar field; a Master's is a plus

For Colorado-based employment: The target salary range is $138,000 - $180,000. In addition to base salary, the compensation package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, as well as equity and a range of medical, dental, vision and other benefits.
