About the Team
You will be part of the Inscape QA team focused on the quality of our front-end embedded client/TV as well as back-end core/cloud/data pipelines that report high quality data to customers. The Inscape QA team is responsible for testing various embedded clients and firmware for a variety of Vizio TVs as well as the core/cloud services/ETLs/data pipelines. The QA team is responsible for validating our award-winning Inscape data set which is used by millions of people every day. We have top-notch software engineers, but with this many data, occasionally, there are errors. That is where you come in! We are looking for detail-oriented testers to join our QA team and help validate the Inscape data and alert us of critical bugs and errors before actual users are affected.

What You Will Do
- Solid understanding of the software development life cycle and where QA fits in.
- Create Test strategy and update the strategy for each scheduled release as needed
- Review requirements specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
- Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
- Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
- Design, develop and execute automation scripts for internal QA use as well as Operations
- You are excellent with Linux/bash to comb through various system level logs for debugging
- You have a data driven testing mindset and ability to translate functional impacts of the system into a broader system level data impact
- You are good in SQL
- You have experience with distributed systems and testing systems that are built with high throughput technologies like Kafka
- You are comfortable working with Databricks, Python/Spark, and big data technologies to analyze data as well as writing tools to monitor data
- Identify, record, document thoroughly and track/triage bugs
- Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
- Catalog and maintain test scenario library
- Present testing results and progress to management team
- Forward Plan the release windows and cycles across a portfolio
- Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality
- Ability to break software with out of box thinking approaches towards load and performance testing strategies
- Participate in early SDLC in evolution of features with Product Managers and Developers
About You
- Require 3+ years of overall experience as a Quality Engineer in Complex system level architecture/Core systems/Big data services
- Experience in working on large scale integration projects that involve ETLs/Big data/databases/streaming technologies like Kafka
- Experience testing Big Data environments and have defined test approaches for testing platform projects powering Big Data such as in Snowflake/Databricks
- Experience in creating testing strategies and engineering best practices related to software test engineering for both manual and automated testing
- Experience in root cause analysis and defect diagnosis techniques
- Experience with implementation of test automation for data warehouse testing
- Experience writing scripts to automate test cases
- Experience working in Agile
- Experienced with SQL/Python/Spark and big data technologies
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
- Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced hands-on experience in building automated regression testing capabilities using current technologies
- Ability to work independently within a quickly changing environment with strict deadlines; to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to summarize and present test results and progress to management
- Exceptional customer service orientation
- Scripting and troubleshooting skills in Linux as well as writing complex tools

For Colorado-based employment: The target salary range is $70,000 - $90,000. In addition to base salary, the compensation package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, as well as equity and a range of medical, dental, vision and other benefits.
