Job Description
Visa Direct is a payment service that Visa provides to clients (issuers, acquirers, processors, merchants, fintech’s and service providers) to facilitate fund transfers/disbursements to accounts/wallets around the world using push payment technology, i.e. Original Credit Transaction (OCT) and collections out of the normal card rails. Visa Direct consumer and business applications include person-to-person (P2P) transfer, person to micro-business transfer (e.g. payments to landscaper), funds disbursement (e.g. insurance claim disbursements), bill payment, cross-border remittance, Business to business payments and more. Currently, the push payments market around the world is estimated to be an 200T opportunity for B2B only.
The Visa Direct Sales Leader reports to the Visa Direct Cluster Sales Leader. The role will lead sales acceleration for Visa Direct in the N&B Cluster for Financial institution and merchants. This is a unique opportunity to be part of building a new ecosystem in the fast-moving world of payments and one of the most important initiatives at Visa.
This role will be responsible for partnering with sales leaders to achieve ambitious sales targets and contributing to the continued growth of Visa Direct. We will be working in an agile environment so this person must be influential in demonstrating the value of Visa Direct, proactive in ensuring we achieve our goals, and skilled in pivoting and adjusting as new information and lessons learned come to light.
Visa is looking for an individual that is a thought leader in strategy and business growth with a proven record of success in fast-paced environments with demanding timelines.
What we expect of you, day to day.
- Leads prospecting and new customer acquisition strategies for opportunities beyond existing Visa relationships in core, consumer business; builds relationships with new stakeholders
- Works closely with Account Executive to coordinate opportunities with overall customer success plan / account plan
- Researches customer and market trends to identify potential new clients and opportunities, introduce innovative solutions, and position Visa as a market leader
- Assesses deal potential after identifying new opportunities based on strong payments knowledge, and maintains cross-functional relationships and be the specialist to drive deals forward
- Anticipates and uncovers ‘hidden’ client needs, giving them confidence that Visa can address their needs and jointly achieve their business objectives
- Leads with a client-first sales mindset and creates custom, differentiated solutions that grow Visa and clients’ business
- Maintains awareness of deal margins when negotiating and effectively sells and negotiates based on value to close deals quickly and effectively
- Leverages internal (e.g., Legal, Finance, Risk & Compliance, Marketing) and external partnerships to bring the best of Visa to clients
l/payment industry knowledge required push payments or real-time payments experience a plus
Qualifications
Experience
- Senior level B2B sales experience, particularly in digital product or solutions
- Experience selling to fintech customers
- Experience from payments/cross-border payments
Knowledge Focus Areas
- Deep knowledge of the various sales cycles and stages
Skills/competencies
- The successful candidate will effectively lead new customer acquisition activities and effectively manage them throughout the entire sales cycle. In doing so, the candidate can work collaboratively across internal Visa functions to build a Visa network, solve complex problems, and serve as the face of Visa to external partners.
- The ideal candidate will bring passion for and interest in Payments in general, Fintech, and Corporate payments, with client-relationship building skills, presence, knowledge of digital first companies strategies and priorities. This is a proactive candidate that is resilient when faced with challenges and has the ability to execute on ambitious goals/quotas.
