Job Description

The Reliability Engineering & Automations team prides itself in keeping Visa systems up and secure, catering to the 24*7 needs of the business. The Software Engineer, a highly motivated individual contributor based in Singapore, responsible for designing and developing effective solutions in accordance with industry standards using best software engineering practices.

As part of the team, you will be required perform design, coding and testing while following the set development standards. The role requires a technologist who has the passion to solve problems, refactor existing code, learn and pick up new technologies based on the needs of the organization, and level-up on existing expertise.

Responsibilities:

• Design, create documentation, and implement new systems, as well as enhance and modify existing software while complying with design specifications, security guidelines, and coding standards.

• The individual should have a passion for delivering zero-defect code.

• Develop scalable real-time low-latency solutions in an agile delivery method

• The individual needs to effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:
• 2 or more years of work experience
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in the Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology disciplines with strong fundamentals in Software Engineering.
• At least 1 to 2 years of working experience in the IT industry, preferably with advanced web development experience in developing web applications and solutions that are lightweight, responsive, user-friendly and visually appealing.
• Experience of building REST based web services & web applications using C# .NET/Java/Python.
• Experience in Angular/React, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3 as well as data formats in XML and JSON.
• Experience writing unit and integration test cases
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented design and programming concepts
• Good understanding of Algorithms and Data structures
• Process oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Work independently with minimal supervision ensuring end to end delivery of assigned projects.
• Identify and share opportunities for future enhancements to features as well as refinements to standards and best practices.
• Collaborate and walk-through your architecture and design decisions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Good understanding of SSDLC, Agile methodologies. Agile development experience in a SCRUM environment is a plus.
• Knowledge of GenAI is a strong plus
