Job Description

The CEMEA Credit & Settlement Risk (CSR) team is responsible for proactively assessing and mitigating credit & settlement risks faced by Visa CEMEA, an integral part of one of the world's largest payment networks. Predominantly, the team manages settlement risks related to corporates and financial institutions across a vast portfolio, requiring risk-based prioritization and an understanding of balancing risks against rewards. An opportunity exists to join this highly respected team, which provides subject matter expertise across the Visa CEMEA organization and is part of a global CSR infrastructure.

This role requires you to be a subject matter expert in managing collateral (cash, SBLCs, and guarantees), as well as conducting credit analysis for corporates and/or financial institutions. This includes a good understanding and knowledge of credit rating models, their application, and use. You will need to utilize a variety of Visa systems, proactively interpreting and applying your expertise to mitigate risk while striking the appropriate risk versus reward balance. The role will require maintaining a strong relationship and partnering with the Business Development Managers, Country Managers, and other regional CSR teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the CSR Framework, procedures, policy standards, and controls.

  • Oversee and manage the entire cash collateral portfolio, including tracking, monitoring, and reporting on cash collateral positions.

  • Meticulously analyze and interpret collateral agreements to ensure full compliance with all terms and conditions, potentially liaising with legal teams to understand complex contract clauses.

  • Act as a key point of contact for internal teams and external clients to resolve collateral disputes, investigating discrepancies and providing solutions to mitigate risks.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on collateral positions and exposure in a clear and concise manner to internal stakeholders.

  • Provide backup support for the other manager in managing standby letters of credit and guarantees.

  • Understand and stay informed about all aspects of standby letters of credit and guarantees to ensure seamless continuation of operations in the absence of the primary manager.

  • Support the CSR team in managing the REACT system (Risk Exposure & Authorizations Controlling Tool), a credit risk management system that monitors authorizations and curbs/stops transactions when risk thresholds are reached for specific clients and group of BINs.

  • Have a sound understanding of a credit framework and controls environment, including its application in a financial or payments institution.

  • Demonstrate the ability to use credit data and provide insightful analytics to manage risk better.

  • Perform credit analysis and industry research of new and existing clients to ensure proper risk assessments.

  • Support the CSR team with reviewing and onboarding new clients, as well as the incentive deal review process.

  • Actively maintain and nurture relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.

  • Support regulatory and internal audit requirements.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should be an independent, fast learner, capable of working with minimal supervision and will have:
Bachelor’s degree in business, management, finance, accounting, or related
field.
At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in collateral management and
analyzing corporate counterparty credit risk and financial institutions.
Familiarity with the banking sector and the payment industry.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations.
Readiness to respond after-hours, weekends and holidays to major risk
matters.
Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, team player, approachable,
professionally mature relationship management skills.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to synthesize information and make
clear, concise conclusions.
Heightened analytical and problem-solving skills, readiness to handle multiple
tasks while focusing on results.
Ability and willingness to take initiative on new projects and work well in a
team environment.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
