Position Overview: We are looking for a passionate, dynamic and customer focused Cloud Architect leader to join our Professional Services team. The candidate should have a strong technical background in cloud platforms and cloud data domains, should be a thought leader, have exceptional organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills and be an analytical and structured thinker. 

The right candidate should have a demonstrable track record of successfully developing cloud architecture frameworks, designing, and delivering modern cloud data platform solutions, cloud migrations, cloud-native solutions and helped drive Cloud Practice growth. We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated excellence in helping clients in their cloud transformation journey, developing roadmaps and blueprints for cloud adoption, building, and leading a team of technical cloud architects and engineers and delivering transformational business outcomes. The successful candidate must be a hands-on person with proven ability to engage in high bandwidth conversations with both business and technology executives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership in building proposals, defining, and delivering client engagements in the Cloud domain.
  • Lead large-scale, complex Cloud transformations including delivering business use cases and outcomes for clients.
  • Assist from pre-sales to delivery phase by leading customer conversations, building proposals and executing signed deals.
  • Grow Professional Services Cloud Practice Thought leadership and visibility by activities such as developing whitepapers, case studies, speaking engagements etc.
  • Work in partnership with Client’s counterparts to drive current state assessment and define target state architecture and roadmaps.
  • Assess client maturity in adoption of Cloud platforms and technology and suggest improvements.
  • Create strategy for clients for cloud transformation governance, automation, security, implementation, and operations.
  • For clients, enable cloud technologies, including configuration of environments, container deployment, and implementation of development tools.
  • Drive cloud migration initiatives, manage a team of cloud professionals, and collaborate with other leaders in the organization.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership in client Cloud transformation engagements.
  • Responsible for the success of Client Cloud platform implementation and Cloud migration with adherence to Client timeline and budget
  • Address risk and issues in partnership with the broader Professional Services leadership team.
  • Manage overall architecture, design, implementation, and testing of Cloud platform projects.
  • Provide hands-on leadership to a geographically diverse team of architects, engineers, technical product owners and analysts.
  • Stay abreast of cloud technology trends, advancements, and best practices.
  • Build and maintain architecture artifacts, design processes and best practices, provide technical oversight to architects and engineers.
  • Manage partnership with cloud technology providers.
  • Present technical updates and client progress to leadership and stakeholders
  • Prototype solutions and develop proof-of-concept.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration and engineering excellence.

This is a remote position. A remote position does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a Visa office location. Remote positions may be required to be present at a Visa office with scheduled notice.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
•12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:
•15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
•Deep experience in Cloud implementations for Clients with one or more of the following platforms - Google, Azure, AWS
•Deep experience with automation and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
•Experience with automated DevOps and CloudOps
•Experienced with agile development process and methodologies.
•Strong knowledge of cloud service providers, cloud technology trends, cloud development tools, cloud migration and management and container technologies.
•A deep understanding of cloud-based data platform architectures, containers and serverless technologies
•Expertise in solution architecture including web services, databases, front-end, back0end technologies.
•Certifications in Google, Azure Cloud, or AWS
•Knowledge of cloud data technologies such as data lakes.
•Experience interacting with external vendors.
•Knowledge of cloud native architecture, cloud tooling and DevOps
•Proven experience with large scale distributed & cloud-based technologies such as Kubernetes, Hazelcast, Kafka, MySQL, Mongo, Cassandra, Containers, Chef, Splunk, Elastic, and Hadoop.
•Large-scale software/application development with coding experience in some of the following: Java, JavaScript, C/C++, C#, .NET, Python, PHP etc.
•Experience managing a team of onshore and offshore architects, developers, and analysts.
•Exposure to SOW negotiation, client management, project delivery
•Ability to define competitive and innovative technical design and get client buy-in
•Exceptional collaboration and partnership skills with the ability to work in a global environment and drive consensus in cross-functional teams.
•Demonstrated interpersonal skills to interface well with clients and partners at all levels.
•Outstanding communications ability to a diverse customer audience, executives, product, and technology stakeholders
•Strong relationship management skills
•Solid business acumen
•Experience demonstrating strong leadership, self-motivation, and accountability.
•Fast learner on both technical and business side

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 153,800.00 to 250,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
