Job Description

Lead and motivate a team of professionals accountable for providing daily overall VisaNet CORE and Digital project management support to financial institutions, processors, merchants and partners. This includes day-to-day client project implementations and Cluster support.

Oversees overall efforts of Visa Client Implementation and business resources required to on board new Visa clients, implement new and enhanced Visa products and services. 

Deploys and improves process and procedures that align to the global and regional strategies and applies working knowledge of Visa and Visa products alongside systems to ensure effective and efficient project implementation.

Provide leadership and direction for complex cross regional or cross-functional client projects and work towards achieving customer and key stakeholder satisfaction of deliverables

Key work outputs and accountabilities

  • Provide leadership and management for a team of individual contributors who are responsible for implementation and integration of VisaNet CORE and Digital products.
  • Develop, coach, mentor and motivate staff to maximize team engagement and performance, complete employee performance reviews and salary evaluations.
  • Set goal and KPIs for the team and provide direction and execution to drive Visa’s digital strategy and fortify Visa’s digital lead position in the payment eco-system.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise on Client processing issues, environments, interfaces and business priorities and implementation strategy.
  • Be able to lead and manage large or complex projects / programmes, cross-functional, cross-regional work to achieve business goals.
  • Build strong relationship with the clusters and clients and act as an escalation point for the team and the respective markets.
  • Build strong partnership with Product, AE and Client Services internal stakeholders.
  • Drive efficiency and effectiveness on deliverables to ensure Client Implementation Services operate at the highest level of performance, client’s satisfaction is always maximized, as well as protects brand preference for the client.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous learning across the team and maintain the latest knowledge of new products and technology.
  • Influence internal and Client decision makers for product adoption, processing strategy changes, new service implementation, etc.
  • Requires interaction with resources at all levels of the organization, both internally at Visa and externally with the Client, ranging from individual contributors to executives. Must be able to influence decisions through a combination of negotiation and consultative input. 
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement for implementation of Visa products/services, resulting in shorter cycle times, improved efficiency, reduced costs and increased customer satisfaction. 

For this role the key skills required are:

  • Brings an in-depth knowledge of best practice project management methods and tools (PMI certification or equivalent a definite plus), and demonstrable success in applying same to the successful completion of complex implementation projects and programs spanning multiple internal departments and external organizations
  • Subject Matter Expertise in multiple areas, gained through years of experience supporting clients and new product initiatives/existing product enhancements within a payment-processing environment.
  • Requires expert knowledge on payment eco-system, VisaNet product and services as well as wide range of Visa products and services and how these impact clients’ business.
  • Ability to manage and lead independently with little supervision of daily activities
  • A proven track record for making sound business decisions, setting direction and managing both short and long-term goals, achieving high quality operational results and customer satisfaction
  • Ability to set priorities and manage customer and stakeholder expectations (internal and external), and work both as part of a team and independently.
  • Formulates short and long-term plans and can change both as the industry or environment changes
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and a proven ability to build and maintain highly satisfied customer relationships.
  • Able to identify, develop, support and retain a diverse and high performing staff
  • Ability to maintain a courteous and professional demeanour in all dealings.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager. 

Qualifications

  • Regional market knowledge and functional experience in payment industry, preferably Visa, supporting highly complex projects, programme and/or services
  • Thorough knowledge of VisaNet products, client and market, as well as industry and Visa project management processes and practices
  • Managing a team responsible for project management and support
  • Project management and/or technical role
  • Success in a leadership position(s) preferred
  • Direct Visa experience preferred
  • Leading cross-functional and/or cross-regional work

Technical

  • Visa Rules, policies and processes
  • Knowledge of other functions within Visa
  • Working knowledge of Visa systems including client connectivity, authorization, clearing and settlement, message formats and APIs
  • Demonstrated, detailed knowledge of the full breadth of systems, products and services offered by Visa
  • Strong knowledge of key technical specialties in VisaNet products
