The EMEA RTP Network Strategist is responsible for our strategic RTP network expansion activities within the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. The candidate will develop an RTP strategy and engagement plan for the region and execute against it in collaboration with Product, Technology, Operational and Regulatory teams. Must be comfortable engaging with payments scheme operators, regulators and central banks, aligned to local regulatory requirements and rules.

 

The candidate will be an experienced strategic payments professional with deep expertise across money movement, payment schemes, EMEA RTP systems and related market-specific aspects such as regulatory considerations.  A deep understanding of payments is required at a strategic level, together with practical experience in this space.

 

The role reports to the Global Head of Real Time Payments.

 

Core Responsibilities

 

This will be a high profile, multidisciplinary role and will require an experienced candidate who will manage Visa’s strategic Real Time Payment expansion activities for the EMEA region, including:

  • Development of an RTP Strategy and Plan to prioritise, understand and connect into new and existing markets
  • Enable data driven decisions across the portfolio
  • Partnering with commercial, product, regulatory and business stakeholders to deliver strategic expansion activities across target markets
  • Working with external parties such as payment scheme operators, regulators and central banks

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

 

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in developing payments strategy and execution - Visa, professional services, consulting or transaction banking background preferred
  • Knowledge of real time payment solutions in EMEA domestic markets
  • Highly skilled in the knowledge of various payment technologies and trends in new payment flows
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance activities
  • Outstanding executive communication skills to develop presentations, business cases and associated summaries
  • A self-starter who takes accountability for getting things done 
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence colleagues
  • Analytical, data driven, research led and commercially sharp 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
