The Opportunity:
As a Director, you will be part of our Clearing and Settlement Product Development Team (in Payment Products Development) and will lead the team responsible for maintenance and development of the Visa Clearing application. The role requires a firm understanding of software development and test processes. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader, excellent communicator, have demonstrable expertise in development, test engineering and above all be customer and team focused. The candidate will manage and supervise assigned technical staff, work closely with peers in the development and test engineering teams within the Payment Product Development (PPD) organization as well as senior management and other groups across the organization.
The Work itself:
- Lead and manage a development team, leverage the expertise of the staff and integrate activities, s/he will serve as key liaison between business, project management, and technical development staff to ensure that specifications and standards meet requirements
- Collaborate with development and analysis staff in remote locations, set clear, aligned goals and direction, delegate and provide candid feedback and coaching to maximize team competency
- Work with Payment Product Development management team to formulate, plan and execute strategic initiatives
- Work with other directors and senior directors within the department to build seamless workflow and processes that will ensure efficient management of resources and the timely deliverable of projects and work units
- Collaborate and consult with other directors and senior directors in other parts of the organization to ensure that project objectives are aligned with quality standards, strategies, and goals
- Manage relationship with Product, Client Support Services and various PMO offices to ensure collaborative, smooth, healthy and open working relationship is maintained
- Keep senior management informed of progress and any obstacles impeding the successful implementation of projects
- Handle routine daily activities such as logistics, coordination, coaching, mentoring, recruiting, planning, delivery, quality, customer/vendor relationships, performance metrics, operations, efficiency and other services
- Mentor and lead other members of the department in the area of development best practices

**We do not expect that any single candidate would fulfill all of these characteristics. For instance, we have exciting team members who are really focused on building scalable systems but didn’t work with payments technology or web applications before joining Visa.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
• 10+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent technical degree) is required
• 12+ or more years of working experience in IT industry with at least 5 years of experience in development, customer support and tool automation.
• Extensive technical experience with developing payment applications
• Experience with dealing with Client Account Management resolving client issues
• Minimum of 3 years in a leadership and resource management capacity
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 176,400.00 to 256,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
