The Global Business Optimisation team has a simple mission: we turn massive amounts of data into actionable insights that drive business value. As part of the Client Services organisation, this role will take ownership of this vision and deliver with excellence for our organisation and our clients. The successful candidate will use strong big data and analytical skills, contextual business sense, and a creative flair to solve real-world business challenges for Visa issuing banks, acquirers, merchants, and processors. In addition, your analytic expertise will directly impact the strategic direction of the organisation and how we deliver value from our data assets.
The successful candidate will be a key member in Global Business Optimisation, within Client Services, supporting all aspects of improving and optimising payment success, including but not exclusive to authentication and authorisation. Responsible for building and deploying a single source of truth on insights, facts, and reporting related to the Visa Europe Regions payment processing. The Director will create brand new streams of work for the Global Business Optimisation team, by building a team of Performance Optimisation SMEs across the suite of Visa product offerings.
Responsibilities
- Derive analytic insights on client performance and deliver findings to external and internal stakeholders, by proactively advising on how to improve performance. Being comfortable leading an end to end advisory engagement with clients, at all levels of seniority.
- Building new streams of Optimisation SME capabilities by focusing on the suite of Visa Products and Solutions
- Formulate and source necessary datasets from internal tools and platforms, rendering insights in compelling presentations and visualisations.
- Lead client-facing initiatives and consulting projects, manipulating complex data and content in an accurate, understandable and engaging manner taking into consideration that stakeholders have varying degrees of analytical and technical expertise by translating analysis and insights into stakeholder & client language
- Collaborate and assess market intelligence and research needs across key corridors and markets. Contribute towards the development of strategy to procure and generate market-level intelligence to support and promote payment success improvement and optimization initiatives
- Lead, develop, coach, mentor and motivate staff to maximize team engagement and performance complete employee performance reviews and salary evaluations
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to manage existing solutions and produce ready-to-consume insight packages for corridor-level, market-level, and region-level leaders
- Combining and analysing disparate data sources and derive insights in a Big Data environment
- Work with a pan-European team located in multiple locations and contribute towards global projects
- Coordinate with internally focused reporting teams to deploy a single source of truth of data for authentication and authorisation.
- Build and deploy capabilities to generate forward-looking views of opportunities, develop hypotheses of key leading indicators of authentication and authorisation trends, gather data, and conduct analysis to identify and isolate existing opportunities.
- Solve business problems and propose solutions while working closely with global and local counterparts to optimise operational performance.
- Retain and maintain SME knowledge regarding authentication and authorisation as well as gather and develop SME knowledge for implementations and enhancements of digital products and services.
- Lead management reporting across different executive stakeholders.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
- Visa experience or knowledge of the payments industry.
- Strong people leadership such as managing OKRs, performance, mentorship
- SME knowledge of authentication and/or authorisation highly preferable.
- SME knowledge on clearing, fraud, and disputes preferable.
- High level of proficiency manipulating data from a variety of sources - Big Data skills (Hadoop, Hive, Spark) and/or SQL skills required.
- Extensive experience working in data analysis and/or insight delivery role.
- •Experience visualising data with tools like Tableau or Power BI advanced Tableau skills are highly desired.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft applications such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word required.
- Advanced competence in Excel, PowerPoint, and Tableau.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are required.
- Excellent teamwork skills and great mentoring attitude.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities work cross-functionally in a matrixed organisation and adapt as necessary to a fast-paced work environment.
- The ability to consume highly complex statistical output and translate/communicate to broad audiences.
- Excellent spoken and written command of English.
- Knowledge of additional European language(s) highly regarded.
