Job Description

 

Visa is looking for a Director, People Communications, to join our Enterprise, People, and Internal & Digital Platforms Communications team. Reporting to the Senior Director, People Communications, this role will develop and execute thoughtful internal and external communication approaches for major People initiatives, with a focus on belonging and employer brand. The Director also will support select speaking engagements for select leaders, including our Chief People and Corporate Affairs Officer, Chief Inclusion Officer, and Global Head of Talent. The Director will serve as a trusted advisor to the organization helping to shape our narrative about belonging and diversity of thought, drive program alignment across our vibrant ERG communities, and develop creative campaigns to amplify our major cultural moments.

Responsibilities

  • Drive belonging goals, OKRs, and a connected narrative across the company through creative, global campaigns
  • Support key leaders’ employer brand and belonging speaking engagements, including custom messaging, talking points, slides and content based on audience
  • Serve as strategic thought partner as external landscape evolves
  • Partner with functional and regional communications leads to drive strong alignment of messaging across the business
  • Lead the end-to-end development and implementation of employee communications plans for the function
  • Proactively identify communication opportunities for leaders to further belonging and diversity of thought objectives through key Visa moments and events
    • Lead coordinated approach across ERGs to celebrate global cultural moments (e.g., International Women’s Month) with engaging internal campaigns
    • Continuously evolve process and self-service toolkits for ERG leaders’ use, to promote additional cultural moments
  • Liaise with designer to develop campaign assets, manage legal reviews of content, and liaise with Internal Digital Platforms team to secure promotion
  • Create tailored content suited for various media platforms, e.g., intranet articles, social posts, employee newsletter features, and other digital channels

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications
12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
Demonstrated expertise in shaping communications strategies and creating messaging frameworks
Experience in shaping belonging and diversity of thought communication strategies and serving as a trusted advisor to leaders
Ability to leverage communications acumen to deliver both broad and bespoke messages and content that resonate with the audience
Exceptional project management with the ability to multi-task and achieve multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment
Ability to synthesize business issues into programs, agendas, and content that address challenges and celebrate key milestones
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including stellar editorial proficiency (writing, editing, proofing)
Keen sense of accountability and ownership
Ability to influence others and build relationships within an organization, communicate regularly with key individuals and interface with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, pivot quickly, and respond with urgency
Sound business judgment and experience “connecting the dots” among seemingly unrelated topics
Hands-on team player with outstanding project management and strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Good judgment skills and able to handle confidential/sensitive information
Passionate about people, culture, and the employee experience
Ability to work independently
Positive approach and commitment to providing excellent client service

 

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 161,500.00 to 220,200.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
