Job Description

The Director of Issuing Solutions for Latin America and Caribbean (“LAC”) region will be supporting the delivery of the regional Issuing Solutions roadmap and ensuring it supports Visa’s aggressive growth targets for Value-Added Services (“VAS”).  More specifically, the Director will partner with central Product and regional Sales teams to deeply understand regional nuances for VAS products and define the functional, commercial, and regulatory requirements to localize and deliver products for sale to regional clients. The role is based in Miami and reports to the Senior Director for VAS Issuing Solutions.

The Director will manage and deliver VAS Issuing Solution products within the LAC region and ensure that these products are client-focused, tailored to specific market characteristics, and are easy to sell and easy to buy. The Director will take ownership of one or more VAS products, orchestrating cross-functional collaborations to formulate Business Cases, oversee implementation roadmaps, identify solution requirements, alleviate development bottlenecks, and assist in devising go-to-market strategies. The Director will collaborate closely with the Sales Team to understand the Voice of the Customer to ensure solution enhancements align with market demands and serve as a solution expert.

The Director will need to have interpersonal skills to build fast rapport and credibility. Cross-functional collaboration is essential, as is experience in product development, business acumen, and technology savviness.  The Director should also understand the commercial dynamics to generate sustained, scalable revenue streams from these Solutions.  A commercial mindset is key to help extend the value of Visa’s Issuing Solutions beyond traditional processing deals, ensuring they are relevant to a wider set of clients and resale partners. 

The Director will have a proven track record of success in fast-paced environments with demanding timelines. This “ground-up” dynamic provides a unique opportunity to help define what success looks like for building and enhancing regional solutions roadmaps.

Essential Functions

  • Product Ownership of VAS Issuing Solutions
    • Support execution of a multi-year strategy for the regional Issuing VAS business, which considers nuances relevant to the specific region (e.g., fintech ecosystem, available payment methods, local banking regulation, mix of digital payments, issuer ecosystem, opportunities for inorganic growth…).
    • Manage VAS products from conception to implementation, ensuring alignment with regional and global priorities
    • Link Issuing Solutions with other Visa Product Domains and Client Segments (Acceptance, Risk) to provide greatest value to the client
    • Identify and resolve bottlenecks in product development and implementation
    • Ideate new solutions that will add value to the Issuing Solutions portfolio that will deliver best in class Products and services that exceed client expectations.
       
  • Manage Solution Development and Implementation
    • Understand and oversee the deployment roadmap of VAS products, ensuring seamless integration and functionality
    • Communicate and collaborate effectively with Sales, Client Services, GTM Teams, and Product Development to ensure cohesive execution of product strategies that meet client needs and market demands
    • Provide support to Client Services teams for effective implementation of VAS solutions.
       
  • Partner with regional Commercialization leaders
    • Collaborate with GTM teams to build, execute, and monitor go-to-market motions so Solutions are easy to sell and easy to buy 
    • Support Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy, which may include new products, bundles, or campaigns, based on local market needs
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders including Sales and CS to execute the GTM strategy
    • Structure client implementations built on Global guidance to ensure a seamless and effective rollout of new solutions
    • Enable Visa and partner Sales channels
    • Inform pricing guidelines with market intelligence, and
    • Partner with GTM, Commercialization, and Strategy Lead to shape regionally-relevant Sales narratives across client segments, which are tightly aligned with Product roadmaps.
       
  • Analyze Client Feedback and Solution Enhancement
    • Gather feedback from sales teams and clients to understand market nuances and identify solution requirements
    • Ensure continuous innovation and improvement of VAS Issuing Solutions.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
• Seasoned Professional, with in depth understanding of regional nuances for VAS products that can define the functional, commercial, and regulatory requirements to localize and deliver products for sale to regional clients
• Business qualifications should include a proven track record of B2B product/solutions development
• A combination of commercial and technology savviness to develop solutions
• Organizational savvy with interpersonal skills to build fast rapport and credibility
• Established reputation for building peer relationships with senior leaders in a large, complex organization, and being able to communicate and influence groups with highly developed communication skills
• Strong, documented evidence of effective team leadership and people development
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives at once in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and remain calm under pressure
• Demonstrated ability to build momentum for change and driving the team across the finish line in making it happen
• Require fluent Spanish and English language capabilities

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 139,200.00 to 201,950.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
