We are seeking a highly skilled Supplier Quality Specialist Engineer to oversee the quality assurance and technical aspects of steel tower fabrication for wind turbines for the North American Market, the role requires significant experience in supplier quality audits, advanced NDT methods, and a thorough understanding of VDA audits, PPAP development, and APQP processes specific to the wind industry. This role is critical to ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance in steel tower production.

Responsibilities:

• Supplier Management and Auditing:

o Conduct supplier quality audits, including VDA audits, and third-party inspections to ensure compliance with contractual and industry standards.

o Perform vendor inspections and expedite production for secondary metallic structures.

• Quality Planning and Development:

o Lead PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) development and ensure alignment with APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) processes for wind turbine projects.

o Collaborate with suppliers to establish control plans, FMEAs, and other quality documentation.

• Technical Quality Assurance and Control:

o Provide Level 3 Technical Advice (EN ISO 9712) and proficiency in advanced and conventional NDT techniques, including Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT).

o Develop and review NDT procedures, scan plans, and optimize process lines to enhance production efficiency and quality.

• Dimensional and Structural Verification:

o Perform Digital Dimensional Control using 3D Scanning.

o Oversee painting test verification to ensure compliance with specifications and durability requirements.

• Packaging, Loading, and Logistics Supervision:

o Ensure proper packing and loading supervision for safe and damage-free transportation of steel tower components.

• Electrical and Additional Testing:

o Perform electrical testing to verify compliance with relevant standards and specifications.

• Training and Capacity Building:

o Provide technical engineering assistance, capacity building, and ad-hoc training for suppliers to ensure quality improvements and adherence to best practices.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Material Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

• 5+ years in supplier quality assurance, manufacturing, or engineering roles within the wind energy, heavy fabrication, or related industries.

• Solid knowledge in VDA audits, PPAP development, and APQP processes for wind turbines.

• Experience with advanced and conventional NDT methods and quality audits.

Competencies:

Technical Skills:

• Advanced knowledge of NDT techniques, including PA, TOFD, MT, PT, and VT.

• Proficiency in digital dimensional control tools such as LiDAR and Leica Total Station.

• Thorough understanding of VDA audit methodology, PPAP documentation, and APQP principles.

• Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001, EN ISO 9712, and IEC 61400.

• Knowledge of painting test verification, electrical testing, and logistics supervision.

Soft Skills:

• Proficient analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Good communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams.

Certifications (Beneficial):

• EN ISO 9712 Level 3 certification or equivalent.

• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).

• Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 or similar standards.
