Job Description/Requirements

About the Role

The Supplier Quality Specialist will report to the Quality Manager. As a member of the quality team, the successful candidate will interface with peers and suppliers in order to prevent quality issues by leading initiatives inclusive of but not limited to early supplier engagement in new product development, supplier evaluation & on-boarding, establishing supplier performance evaluation parameters, assessment of supplier process capability and lead continuous improvement efforts for NPI and sustaining product quality improvement of optical and electronics components and assemblies.

What You'll Do
  • Supplier evaluation & on-boarding for responsible optical and electronics components and assemblies
  • Experience reading and interpreting optical specifications and evaluating supplier performance data against parameters
  • Resolve quality issues of purchased parts in a timely manner to meet quality related KPIs
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier quality performance to drive continuous improvement
  • Responsible for effective facilitation of the nonconforming product resolution (NCR) process
  • Facilitate Non-Conforming material review boards and disposition parts accordingly
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders; deliver effective solutions to quality issues
  • Collect and analyze data: identify trends, escalate undesirable conditions
  • Manage, track and trend supplier corrective action and effectiveness
  • Work collaboratively with suppliers and engineering to produce both cost effective and high-quality products
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier quality scorecard performance to drive continuous improvement
  • Review Optical drawings and specifications in order to ensure compliance to established standards
What You'll Need
  • Degree in an associated Engineering discipline or Physics or Materials in a related discipline
  • 3-5 years of work experience in Optics or Opto-electronics or similar industry
  • Experience with MRP/ERP Systems, including hands-on experience working in SAP
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Coordination and management of specific quality project deliverables accrediting production launch and ramp-up capacities
