The General Purpose:

We are looking for dedicated equipment operator who are enthusiastic about preserving our planet through clean, renewable wind energy. As a Lead Heavy Equipment Operator, you'll

operate, maintain and ensure safe handling of heavy equipment involved in the packaging, shipping and transporting of products, while adhering to safety standards and work processes.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment such as Class 1-7 equipment, various cranes, forklifts, Tractor, Grader, Skid Steer etc., according to relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Carry out safe lifts on objects up to 9 tons and up to 200' in length in all types of lighting and weather conditions.
  • Perform safety inspections on equipment and rigging; maintain inspection records.
  • Undertake maintenance and repairs on equipment; perform quality assurance inspections prior to shipment.
  • Prepare and load products for shipment and coordinate transport procedures with transporters.
  • Conduct errands using the company vehicle and manage transportation of items from warehouse to plant or pick up items from various locations.
  • Review and follow production schedules, orders, and re-admissions to determine items to be distributed.
  • Maintain inventory records and create shipment manifests through use of smartphone or computer.
  • Allocate resources effectively to optimize output while adhering to organizational policies and laws.
  • Handle planning, assignment, direction and overseeing of processes, address and resolve problems.
  • Report concerns and complaints for resolution to the respective department supervisor/manager.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications Must Have:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Essential skills - Heavy Equipment/Crane Operation, Rigging, Tiller-man duties
  • Three to five years of on-the-job training or related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Driver's License
  • Basic computer skills: Microsoft Office, ERP/MRP systems, SAP
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to physically lift 55 lbs and exert (push/pull) 100 lbs

Qualifications Nice to Have:

  • Certification in any of the following: Rigger level 1, Heavy Equipment Operations, Mobile Crane, Welding AWS D 1.1, CDL Class-A
  • Rail/truck transport general knowledge
  • Skills in preparing legal contracts, sourcing, understanding technical drawings and specifications.

Education:

High school or GED required

Physical Demands:

The role requires regular lifting up to 55 lbs, exerting (push/pull) up to 100 lbs of force occasionally and climbing ladders throughout the shift. The role involves coordination with a 6-person team coordinating movements of heavy equipment is also required.

Work Environment:

The position is based outdoors in all weather conditions, working on various modes of transportation in a potentially loud, industrial storage yard environment.
