General Summary:

The Solutions Offering Director is a key partner in helping grow our client base by delivering innovative, efficient, and effective services. The role will be primarily responsible for evaluating plan design requirements for prospects and determining the right Solutions offering. Additionally, the Solutions Offering Director provides expert level consulting anytime clients have a request that deviates from our standard offering in the client profile or catalog. The successful candidate will engage with prospects and Sales Executives through all stages of the sales process as well as internal partners to navigate and guide clients as subject matter experts. The Solutions Offering Director team also supports our efforts to advance complex clients to Total Leave.

This position requires an exceptional understanding of how Unum supports our clients leave and disability needs through a variety of offerings and integrations. In addition to extensive knowledge of FMLA and paid leave, the Solutions Offering Director must demonstrate excellent presentation and influencing skills, strong analytical and organizational skills, an ability to work independently and within a team, ability to review and process complex information, and strong decision-making abilities. Additionally, as new offerings are developed, the Solution Offering Director must continue to expand their expertise to be able to continue providing expert level consulting on our offerings.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Exhibit an understanding of the sales process and marketplace influences to partner with the field to maximize the company's outcome at a case level.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert during our sales process for FMLA, corporate leaves, statutory plans, STD, and our collective offerings on the Total Leave platform, inclusive of representing the expected client and employee experience (may include integrations with HRC).
  • Partner with the Sales Representative in the development of a prospect sales strategy
  • Engage with broker and senior HR officials at prospects to understand plan requirements and provide consultation.
  • Present the details of Unum's best solution and integration offering, when needed, to prospective clients.
  • Evaluate the prospects' scope and plan design requirements for FMLA, corporate leaves, statutory plans, and STD to ensure the profitable acquisition of new cases and the continued retention of in force cases.
  • Acts as Consultant to employer on client profile and catalog offerings to enrich the overall benefit to employee/employer.
  • Use Salesforce to gather and store data.
  • Ability to analyze data and to identify trends and opportunities for improvement and provide insight to the broader Go to Market organization to continue our efforts on developing the capabilities and offerings.
  • Represent Unum by delivering presentations and engaging with audiences at customer forums as well as broker and industry events.
  • Responsible for facilitating special, ad hoc projects related to advancing efforts as needed.
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Job Specifications

  • BA/BS or combination of education and equivalent related work experience required
  • 10+ years of FMLA and/or STD experience preferred
  • Skill in Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.
  • Excellent critical thinking/analytical reasoning skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to be persuasive and to negotiate.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Exhibit a commitment to quality and personal ownership of results.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$89,900.00-$169,900.00

Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
