General Summary:

Unum Group seeks Software Engineers II in Chattanooga, TN.

  • Develop, build, configure, and modify software for an assigned business portfolio supporting ServiceNow applications
  • Design, code, configure, unit test, maintain, and document software deliverables using agreed upon standards and tools
  • Estimate, design, implement, and maintain new and existing features for the existing portfolio of software applications
  • Complete complex feature development tasks for assigned software applications
  • Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
  • Communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders in the delivery of software features
  • Participate in code reviews and sprint retrospectives
  • Manual and automated testing and use of continuous integration techniques
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, User Experience (UX) designers, Agile teams, Test Engineers, Senior Test Engineers, and Technical Support Engineers on software design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces
  • Automate testing of software to industry standards of software automation

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus 4 years of related experience. Requires 4 years of experience with the following: Implementation and maintenance of ServiceNow ITSM including Incident, Problem and Change processes; Development of simple to Complex catalog items, defining catalog items, building reusable items and recording producers across several areas including Legal, Finance, IT & HR; Building and supporting ServiceNow integrations with third party tools like Microsoft 365, Salesforce, Tenable, SailPoint, and Lexmark; Building and maintaining Automated Test Framework (ATF) for automating the manual testing process for Catalog items and record producers; Working with Software Asset Management and Hardware Asset Management in areas including Integrations and Return to Stock; Performance Analytics including creation of PA Jobs, Indicators, building and maintaining ServiceNow reports, dashboards, data visualizations; ServiceNow Developer experience in working with UI Actions, Business Rules, UI Pages, UI Macros, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular JS, Bootstrap, transform maps, maintaining ACLs(Access Control Lists), Surveys, SLAs (Service level Agreements), and Email Inbound Actions. Requires 2 years of experience with the following: Implementation of ServiceNow mobile applications; ServiceNow platform upgrade experience, cloning, patching, and maintenance including reviewing skip logs, coordinating with business on implementation and remediation plans. Requires any amount of knowledge in computers, computer programming, programming languages, software engineering, information technology, mathematics, statistics, software development design and testing, and software testing tools.

Telecommuting permitted within normal commuting distance approximately 3 days per week.

40 hours/week; $107,099 - $120,470 per year. This wage range supersedes the base salary range listed below, due to the salary range below reflecting a national range.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$73,300.00-$150,500.00

Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
