General Summary:

The IT Delivery Manager will lead a small to mid-sized team of IT professionals in an Agile environment, focusing on delivering high-quality Salesforce solutions.

This role is pivotal in optimizing team performance, fostering professional development, and ensuring steady delivery of valuable solutions. The IT Delivery Manager will collaborate closely with the Product Owner, as well as DTO leadership, and business partners, to meet business objectives.

Hybrid: 3 days onsite per week at our Portland, Maine campus.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent technical experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT, with a background in software development or technology, and 1 year of leading a technical team from an HR perspective
  • Strong knowledge of Agile leadership principles and experience leading Agile teams.
  • Excellent mentoring and coaching skills with a focus on addressing skill needs and gaps.
  • Effective at leading meetings and collaborating with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to champion change and support teams through transitions.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to apply unique insights for a competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and evaluate the team's overall delivery, addressing Salesforce issues proactively.
  • Ensure the team has a clear, prioritized backlog of valuable work.
  • Collaborate with the product owner to prioritize initiatives and ensure smooth sprint releases.
  • Remove obstacles that may impact team performance.
  • Ensure the team follows best software engineering practices such as test-driven development, peer reviews, continuous integration, and comprehensive testing.
  • Use performance metrics to enhance team efficiency.
  • Mentor, coach, and guide team members to higher performance levels, ensuring clear development plans are in place.
  • Identify and address skill gaps, promoting cross-training opportunities to bolster team expertise.
  • Foster a self-organizing, empowered, and autonomous team that partners effectively with business stakeholders.
  • Regularly review and update team members' development plans.
  • Maintain knowledge of emerging technology trends and identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Support Agile values by focusing on delivering the highest-value business solutions.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$89,400.00-$183,500.00

Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
