About the Role

You will be part of the EMEA tax team based in Amsterdam and will report to a Regional Tax Manager within the EMEA region.

As a Tax Analyst you'll be involved in supporting and managing international tax matters for Uber in France, Italy (as well as additional countries in the EMEA region - as may be added based on business needs) working closely with the regional leads on a broad range of international tax matters. At the same time you'll advise and work closely with a broad set of business stakeholders to advise them on tax matters.

What You'll Do

  • You will support the tax lead in all tax matters for Uber in France, Italy (as well as additional countries in the EMEA region as may be added based on business needs) to deliver impactful and significant insights that drive decision making, but support can be extended to international tax matters impacting the wider EMEA region
  • You will have the ability to operate independently, make decisions and thrive on execution
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders such as Operations, Legal, Policy, Accounting and Communications
  • Maintain relationships with local Tax Authorities and manage any local tax audits including correspondence with the Tax authorities
  • Liaise and manage external advisers to ensure Uber gets the best advice possible
  • Review legal contracts from a tax perspective
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the global tax team on various projects and provide regular feedback to the tax team and other teams to ensure they understand your role, enabling them to better partner with you on tax issues.
  • Stay on top of all international and local tax developments in WSE, analyze the impact for Uber's business and advise your tax team members and other relevant stakeholders accordingly
  • Create appropriate deliverables for use within the tax department and in the broader company and document all tax input provided.
  • Support other special projects by researching and analyzing the tax issues.
  • International travel may be part of the job where necessary

What You'll Need

  • An academic degree in tax or finance
  • At least 3 years of tax experience in a sophisticated tax environment with exposure to tax advisory matters
  • International tax experience, preferably in a fast-paced, large volume e-commerce environment.
  • Ability to work in English, both written and spoken. The ability to work in French is a plus.
  • Affinity with and interest in tax related technologies is an important asset since this over time digitalization will become an increasingly important part of the position
  • Exceptional organizational skills, excellence in daily task executions and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and comfortable sharing information formally or informally with senior audiences
  • High standards across the board - from your own contributions to the people you work with and projects you work on
  • Willingness to deal with a very steep learning curve and openness to challenging projects outside your usual areas of experience or comfort zone
