About the Role

Uber Eats is looking for a Strategic Operations Lead to manage the development and implementation of efficient and impactful growth strategies for some of our largest Grocery and Retail partners.

This operations role calls for a combination of stakeholder management, creative problem-solving, operational optimization, strong data analytics, and project management. Strong communication skills, especially being able to handle both technical and high level conversations with seasoned external leadership, are crucial since a big part of this role will be externally-facing. You should be comfortable in an 'all hands on deck' setting, enjoy solving complex problems, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will work cross-functionally with other teams and external partners to make their brands a success and grow the overall Uber Eats business.

What You Will Do

  • Build: As we grow grocery and retail on Uber Eats, we will launch new merchants and create more opportunities for existing merchants to invest in their business on Uber Eats. This role will be responsible for rolling out merchant launch and co-marketing plans for some of the biggest brands in the grocery, convenience, alcohol and retail space in the US and Canada,.
  • Analyze: Quantify everything you do. Utilize data-driven decision making to understand business trends and marketing performance and craft your recommendations to senior leadership and external partners.
  • Strategize: Think creatively to identify new opportunities to drive win-win growth for Uber and merchants. Develop business cases, prioritization frameworks, and implementation plans and unify strategies into holistic marketing annual calendars.
  • Turn strategy into action: Program manage all aspects of growing new and top merchants on the platform, problem solve challenges as they arrive, and deliver strong execution. Present and get buy-in from e-commerce and marketing leadership at top grocery and retail partners.
  • Collaborate: Work with internal and external stakeholders to create new ways for merchants to grow on the platform and maximize their growth dollars, understanding how to marry the goals of Uber Eats and the merchant.
  • Scale: Develop and implement processes that scale across merchants and the platform more broadly to increase efficiency and drive growth.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of operations, business/ general management, growth operations, strategy, planning, management consulting or similar experience
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools, especially SQL
  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualification

  • Management consulting, marketplace growth operations, or strategy work in a large business (4+ years preferred)
  • 2+ years of client-facing experience
  • Experience in grocery, retail, or CPG industries is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with lots of evidence of working with senior level stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to tackle problems logically; Data-driven approach to decision making and sound business judgment to determine project performance and financial viability, grounded in analytical thinking
  • Creative problem-solving approach that enjoys building new solutions and experimenting and is willing to take bold bets despite risk of failure
  • Bias toward action and master simplifier - constantly pushing toward alignment, clarity and execution on tight timelines
  • Phenomenal collaborator and someone who proactively partners across teams
  • Self-motivated, works independently and possess strong organization and time management skills

For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$140,000 per year - USD$155,000 per year.

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$155,000 per year - USD$172,000 per year.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$155,000 per year - USD$172,000 per year.
