About the Role

The Platform Engineering Capacity Managment team is looking for a skilled Senior Network Capacity Planner - Cloud Network Solutions Architect. This role involves analyzing network demand and optimizing capacity within cloud and on-premise environments to ensure efficient design and reliable network architecture. The role is highly visible and will require a detailed eye, as well as an optimization mindset.

---- What the Candidate Will Do ----

The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of the following:

  • Cloud and on-prem infrastructure experience
  • Good understanding of scalable, hybrid (cloud and on-prem) network architectures that meet organizational needs while applying to best practices and compliance standards.
  • Utilize monitoring tools to track network performance, identify bottlenecks, and provide detailed reports on capacity utilization and demand forecasts.
  • Network architecture and optimization
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize network performance, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient resource allocation.
  • Capacity Demand Planning
  • Work with forecasting team to analyze current network usage and trends to forecast future capacity needs, ensuring alignment with business growth and service requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including compute, storage, data and network platform engineering, Global Network infrastructure, Capacity & Efficiency Engineering, and multiple external vendors to ensure seamless integration of network solutions.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, capacity plans, and architectural designs.
  • Available to troubleshoot network capacity issues and implement solutions to improve reliability and and optimize performance.

---- Basic Qualifications ----

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in network engineering, cloud infrastructure, and capacity planning
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF).
  • Experience with network capacity demand planning principles and best practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven mindset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CCNA, or equivalent) are a plus

  • Experience with OCI and GCP is a plus.

For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$203,000 per year - USD$225,500 per year.
