About the Team
We are Uber's Data Protection Office. We help Uber to do the right thing with data. We independently advise on and monitor Uber's compliance with data protection laws around the globe, such as the GDPR. We also are a port of call for users who have issues with how their data is used. We help them and Uber to resolve those.
What You'll Do
- Handle issues users have raised with the DPO and the follow-up of those
- Help to effectively monitor and audit for compliance with data protection laws
- Execute reviews across the Uber organisation to this effect, analyze findings, report conclusion and improvements
- Provide solicited and unsolicited advice on the application of data protection laws across the globe

What You'll Need
- You have more than 4 years of relevant professional experience
- You are curious, open-minded, resilient, and self-starting
- You have strong written and oral communications skills
- You possess a good understanding of GDPR and other data protection laws and their background
- You have a good understanding of how information technology, software engineering, and data-driven organisations operate
- You can see the bigger picture, yet are prepared to dig deep into the details that matter
- You have an academic degree in law, business administration and/or computer science
- Having CIPP/E or similar qualification is a bonus
- You love working in a young, global, fast-growing company where dust doesn't settle

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber's cultural identity. Unless formally approved to work fully remotely, Uber expects employees to spend at least half of their work time in their assigned office. For certain roles, such as those based at green-light hubs, employees are expected to be in-office for 100% of their time.
