About the Role
The India & South Asia (InSA) Mobility business spans over 100 cities across three countries and is pivotal in Uber's growth, profitability, and innovation roadmap. This region presents a unique blend of regulatory, competitive, and growth challenges, offering immense opportunities to innovate and lead.
As the Regional Risk Lead, you will be partnering with the global risk team to build outstanding risk management experience across the entire user, merchant and driver lifecycle to ensure safe business growth in InSA
What You'll Do
- Drive down payments fraud, balancing customer experience: Take the lead to develop and deliver on a payments fraud strategy that continually drives down losses, whilst balancing with customer experience.
- Program manage fraud initiatives: Work closely with global, regional and local teams to drive large scale end-to-end strategic and tactical initiatives to mitigate fraud losses.
- Lead engagement with Mobility teams: Advise regional businesses on any potential risks to profitability and engage with ops teams across InSA to ensure awareness, alignment, and agreement on fraud & risk activities.
- Conduct risk assessment: Evaluate new products, features, campaigns, incentives and processes, provide data-driven input on risk control and influence/challenge key decisions to ensure adequate risk check and prevention are in place.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Information Technology, or a related field
- At least 5-7 years of experience in Trust and Safety, policy, cyber-security, business strategy, or related fields
- In-depth knowledge of fraud detection technologies and risk management practices
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with strong ability to drive results internally with global teams, while fostering a culture of local ownership and initiative
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience presenting complex, strategic initiatives to senior business leaders
Preferred Qualifications
- Skilled at addressing ambiguous challenges and defining strategies that clarify objectives, drive alignment, and yield measurable business impact
- Experience in managing payments risk in tech companies
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders with varying priorities and drive creative solutions and commitment to a shared goal
- Expertise with quantitative tools such as SQL or Python
