About the Role

The EMEA Grocery & Retail business is rapidly growing, and we are looking for talented individuals to join us in supercharging this growth. Our EMEA Grocery & Retail Central Operations team is dedicated to driving growth and operational excellence across 11 emerging EMEA markets (excluding France & UK), ensuring the best possible experiences for customers, merchants, and delivery partners.

As a Merchant Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting and scaling the expansion of our EMEA Grocery & Retail selection (merchant partners as well as the products they sell) while ensuring and maintaining a high standard of operational quality. You will have the opportunity to work directly with various local market and global teams to enable and launch new merchant partners and product categories, while taking ownership of implementing operational improvement solutions.

What You Will Do

  • Merchant Expansion: Guide local commercial and operations teams in launching new merchant partners on the platform, ensuring the highest possible quality for end customers while balancing speed and long-term operational performance.
  • Unlock New Product Categories: Lead efforts to enable merchants to compliantly sell restricted and regulated items (e.g., Alcohol) on the platform by coordinating with cross-functional teams (Operations, Legal, Payments, Safety, Support, and Comms) to meet all regulatory, compliance, and safety requirements.
  • Commercial Enablement: Collaborate with sales and account management teams to identify process inefficiencies and merchant pain points, building scalable solutions to enhance merchant management and operations.
  • Product Expertise & Best Practices: Develop deep expertise in Uber's Grocery & Retail product suite (including Uber Eats Manager, Uber Eats Orders, Uber Inventory & Catalog platform) and work with Ops & Product teams to ensure merchants operate according to best practices.

What You Will Need

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of professional experience in a related field (business operations, tech, analytics, consulting, banking, etc.).
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to prioritize work streams across multiple projects and maintain a high attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, capable of breaking down ambiguous problems and using data-driven insights to solve them.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with complex datasets using tools like SQL, Excel/Google Sheets to derive insights and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proven experience in designing and scaling operational processes, particularly those related to performance, regulatory, or compliance standards.
  • Experience in external partner/client/account management, with a focus on enabling commercial teams to ensure merchant partners succeed on the platform.
