About the Role

The mission of Uber's Global Security Team is to protect our people, places, platforms, and communities. The Marketplace Security team plays a critical role in supporting the operational effectiveness and resilience of Uber's Marketplace Security Program, to keep Uber safe. The Marketplace Security Lead will be responsible for supporting the development, alignment, and execution of the program across the APAC region.

As the Marketplace Security Lead, APAC, you will be responsible for driving regional program strategy, maintaining governance frameworks, and ensuring that policies, procedures, and operational support are consistent, effective, and locally adaptable. You will work multi-functionally with local and global business partners, the APAC & EMEA Marketplace Security Manager, and the Director of Global Security for APAC, to provide regional insights to the program, and support training to Regional Security Centers (RSCs), ensuring operational readiness, and maintaining alignment with policy and procedure.

The Impact You'll Have

  • Collaborate regionally, centrally, and support program strategy for APAC, in consultation with the Global Security regional operations teams (APAC & EMEA Marketplace Security Manager, Directors, RSM's, etc.)
  • Maintain governing frameworks for marketplace procedures and policy
  • Operationalising frameworks when required to oversee implementation of the program for significant incidents as an incident manager, and maintaining situational awareness of marketplace incidents and actions taking place in the regions
  • Collaborate across Global Security & Investigations to work together on projects and initiatives to drive the Marketplace Security program
  • Collaborate with local and regional business partners, and seek opportunities to ensure business needs are met by the Marketplace Security Program
  • Formulate, adapt, and localize initiatives to align with the regional strategy, and continuous review of marketplace procedures for efficiency and effectiveness
  • Contribute to defining and overseeing training strategy requirements, and provide operational training to the Regional Security Centre
  • Responsible for supporting and managing the operational support of the Marketplace Security program to RSCs (on call management and performance)
  • Lead the development of AAR, After Action Insights (AAI), SITREPs, weekly/monthly program documents, intelligence briefs, etc.
  • Oversee execution of policy and procedures in the Regional Security Centre and make adjustments as needed to support operations
  • Leverage data analysis and operational support to identify potential risks, mitigate security threats, and ensure the seamless functioning of Uber's marketplace operations during disruptive events.
  • Oversee quality assurance and data audits

The Experience You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field, plus 5+ years of experience in strategy, operations, security operations, or product management in an industry such as technology or marketplace operations
  • Data-driven decision mentality and strong business judgment through excellent analytical thinking and experience interpreting data
  • Proficiency in data visualisation tools such as Tableau and standard language for accessing and manipulating databases such as SQL are a must
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data insights to drive decisions, measure success, and identify business opportunities
  • Excellent communicator; must be articulate and persuasive with the ability and attention to detail in written and oral communications at all levels both internally and externally
  • Crisis Management, response and coordination experience
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity, anticipate risks, and take creative yet responsible risks
  • Capable of fostering a culture of Trust, Honesty and Integrity
