About the Role

The Marketplace team's mission is to ensure that Uber's customers in France have a reliable and convenient service at an affordable price at all times in all places. This is a hugely challenging task that requires our brightest minds to solve complex operational challenges.

We use data to inform everything we do: identifying and executing initiatives to improve revenue performance and the health of our city marketplaces, optimising pricing, deciding where and when to deploy promotions, launching new product features and pricing technology and launching Uber in new cities.

What you'll do

  1. Lead strategic projects for the France Marketplace team, working across functions to assess, test, and scale new features and marketplace improvements.
  2. Scale Marketplace Products and Processes: Work as a bridge between EMEA Operations, cross-functional, and product teams to contribute to product requirement definitions, experimentation, launch, and scale-up of new products in France; perform analytics for ongoing optimization.
  3. Project Management and Execution: Manage projects related to marketplace products and processes by creating launch and expansion plans, aligning multiple stakeholders, tracking issues, conducting root-cause analyses, and tracking progress against goals.
  4. Analytics & Data-Driven Decision Making: Develop comprehensive, data-backed frameworks and models to drive marketplace decisions (such as investment and pricing) in the region and optimize overall marketplace efficiency.
  5. Stakeholder and Partner Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with local operations , EMEA teams and other partners by providing valuable insights and contributing to their success.
  6. Main Thought Partner: Act as a key thought partner to the Head of Marketplace and Regional General Manager, providing insights and strategic recommendations to shape Uber's future in France.

Basic Qualifications
  1. At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in driving revenue growth and customer experience improvements for a product or business area.
  2. Strong business acumen with a knack for identifying opportunities, weighing trade-offs, and executing on high-impact initiatives.
  3. Consistent track record of solving complex operational problems using data analysis, demonstrating the ability to break down ambiguous problems in a structured way and identify and synthesise the appropriate data to create insights that inform solutions.
  4. Advanced analytical skills, with experience using SQL, Excel/Google Sheets to extract insights and optimize decision-making.
  5. Proven project management skills, including execution, stakeholder alignment, and problem resolution.
  6. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with an ability to understand highly technical and complex mechanics and algorithms and then translate that information simply and effectively for a range of audiences.
  7. Customer obsession - you relentlessly think about building the best service for all three sides of the market, how what we are doing impacts our customers and how to find a balance that works for everyone.
  8. Entrepreneurial mindset, self-starter, and comfortable working in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Proficiency in data analysis tools (SQL, Python, R, etc.).
  2. Experience managing multiple projects in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
  3. Strong track record of strategic planning and execution in localized markets.
