About the Role
The InSA mobility business spans 3 countries (100+ cities) and is a key element of Uber's growth, profitability, and innovation roadmap. As a business, we face an outstanding set of opportunities and challenges due to the regulatory, competitive, and economic uniqueness of our region.We are looking to hire a leader to help shape and drive critical projects for the mobility business in India & South Asia, working directly with the regional leadership. The scope of this role spans multiple aspects of the business like influencing investment allocation across the portfolio, platform level optimizations, shaping tech strategy for the region, and managing resourcing & governance dialogues with global teams.

The candidate will need to show distinctiveness in:
- Thought Leadership: This involves identifying emerging opportunities, risks, and market shifts to craft forward-thinking strategies that give the organization a competitive edge. It goes beyond reactive problem-solving-it's about anticipating future needs, setting industry benchmarks, and influencing both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strategy Development: Ensuring that INSA Mobility aligns its resources and capabilities with future market needs, allowing it to stay ahead of competitors and capitalize on evolving trends. This approach ensures that the organization remains agile, adaptive, and well-prepared to capture new opportunities as the industry evolves.
- Stakeholder Management: The goal is to foster collaboration across departments, maintain alignment with strategic priorities, and ensure that all parties remain motivated and focused on the common goal, despite potential challenges or competing interests.
- Project Management: Taking full ownership of planning, executing, and delivering multiple complex projects that significantly influence the long-term success and growth of the mobility business across India and South Asia.
What the Candidate Will Do
- 6+ years of experience leading a team - preferably encompassing both strategy and operations functions.
- Critical Thinkingto assess and unlock new business opportunities, anticipate business trends, think deeply while not losing sight of the bigger picture, and bring a data-driven decision-making mentality.
- High tolerance for ambiguitywith a natural reflex for reducing a complex business problem into well-structured tangible components.
- Pareto thinking to balance strong attention to detail with swift execution - Balancing these can be challenging, and this should be a strength!
