About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead our Data Engineering team, supporting Search and Feed Engineering efforts. In this role, you will drive the development of high-performance data infrastructure, optimize data pipelines, and ensure the scalability of search and recommendation systems. You will work closely with engineers, data scientists, and product teams to build and refine data systems that power personalized user experiences.

- Collaborate with search and machine learning engineers to integrate data pipelines with AI-driven ranking and recommendation models.
- Drive data quality, observability, and reliability by implementing monitoring, alerting, and data validation frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and security best practices.
- Partner with product and engineering leadership to align technical priorities with business objectives.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering, search, and recommendation systems.

---- Basic Qualifications ----
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with 2+ years in a leadership or management role.
- Strong expertise in big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, Flink, Airflow, Presto, or Snowflake.
- Proficiency in distributed data processing frameworks and real-time streaming architectures.
- Deep understanding of data modeling, ETL pipelines, and data warehousing principles.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and data infrastructure tools.
- Proven ability to manage and mentor engineers, fostering a strong team culture.
---- Preferred Qualifications ----
- Hands-on experience with search and recommendation systems, working with Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Solr, or similar technologies.
- Experience with machine learning-driven ranking algorithms.
- Exposure to A/B testing and experimentation platforms for search and feed optimization.
